MASTERPEACE ASIAN YOUTH SUMMIT

The First Edition of the Asian Youth Summit with the headline “Creating Impact. Together.” will be a unique event that brings together Asian youth leaders in Kathmandu, Nepal, from 22-24 March 2019. These are the most talented and inspirational changemakers who work for the sustainability and development of their local communities.

The leaders will be joined by invited representatives from businesses, governmental institutions, and civil society organizations, with the goal to exchange best practices, learn & develop on personal and professional levels, extend networks and co-create funding opportunities.

We all recognize the global and regional challenges of the modern world. The UN’s Sustainable Development Goals further demonstrate the urgency and the opportunities to work together for a better world that offers equal opportunities and well-being to all.

The Asian Youth Summit aims to bring together change-makers from various regions to create a strong network and work on innovative concepts and ideas that will impact the daily life of millions. “Time For Nature: One Person One Plant”- WED 2020

Day by day nature is challenging living beings, Nevertheless, living beings are daring to live in this challenging environment. There is a lot of environmental issues that is ongoing in this environment like climate change, global warming, and pollution which is one of the pressing danger for our future generation. Some of the data reveal that around 28 gegatons of carbon dioxide are present in this atmosphere. One of the best solutions to minimize these issues is a plantation and we also believe that youth are the torchlight for the change.

Amidst the Global pandemic of coronavirus, this year we are going to celebrate World Environment Day 2020 in a very meaningful way with Nepal Youth Council, Rupandehi and Youth CAN. So on the auspicious occasion of WED 2020, As a secretary at NYC Rupandehi, Regional Ambassador for Nepal at tunza, and one of the campaign coordinator of this program is very glad to announce All Nepal plantation campaign on the theme, “TIME FOR NATURE: ONE PERSON ONE PLANT”. We believe that this campaign not only encourages all the people to nurture nature but also to nurture self. And we believe together we can make a huge change. Let’s work together for our biodiversity. Let’s be the change, inspire the change, and implement the change.

Intellect Youth Meet 2020

Nepal Youth Council—a social, non-political, and youth-led organization—was established in 2012 and has been actively working in the sector of Youth Entrepreneurship, Youth Leadership, Youth for Environment, Youth for ICT, and SDGs. It has been organizing National Youth Conference for the last 7 years, has started organizing Provincial Youth Conferences in all 7 provinces, and has been organizing youth-focused events throughout the year. After a number of successful events that includes inter-college speech competition on “Roles of Youths in Achieving SDGs” and a seminar in “Worry Youth! Climate Change is here”, Nepal Youth Council is now going to organize another event titled “Intellect Youth Meet 2020 (IYM2020).”

The Nepalese education system often focuses only on the need to get good grades but not on life-skills and practicality. Students are often ‘spoon-fed’ the syllabus and much learning is done through rote methods. This is the reason students aren’t able to quickly adopt self- learning and self-discipline which is crucial to advancing one’s career. Realizing this, Nepal Youth Council has always worked and organized different conferences, boot-camps, and trainings to help youths realize the potential and possibilities in the field they want to pursue in the future. In similar context, Nepal Youth Council, with an aim of helping youths progress in their journey of building a career, has worked and organized youth-focused event to help youths in this very matter. Taking the culture further, Nepal Youth Council is coming up with a new event i.e. Intellect Youth Meet 2019. Nepal Youth Meet 2019 will house 1400+ young, enthusiastic, and dynamic minds in a single bowl and help them choose a career they want to pursue in the future.

OBJECTIVES

To house over 1200+ youths engaging them with more than 15 thriving speakers in a single hall to led sparks of inspiration flow among them
To exhibit the past, present, and futuristic trends of the speakers and their field of expertise

Provincial Youth Conference 2019 – Gandaki Province

As defined by the National Youth Policy, 2072(2015), youth means “citizens within the age bracket of 16 to 40 years”. The numbers of the Youths constitute 40.3% of the total population of Nepal which age-group keeps willingness and capacity to bring changes in the country if their energy is rightly utilized for the sake of individual, family, and country, in general. Due to lack of knowledge, motivation, opportunities, and guidance, many youths in the country are not able to find the right way in life and moving around without vision and goals. The trend proves to be good neither for an individual nor for the country. Thus, it is urgent to build the capacity of youths and engage them in capacity building and income generation activities through leadership building.

The objective of the Provincial Youth Conferences

The major objective of organizing the provincial conferences is to build the leadership capacity of scattered youths by integrating their strengths to achieve sustainable developments goals at the local level. The programs not only sharpen the individual capacity but also support to prepare the background for developing the country towards economic prosperity. The specific objectives are:

To motivate youths to be entrepreneurs by identifying the possibilities in agriculture and tourism sectors at the local level.
To promote the local touristic destinations and initiate for their conservation in association with the local governments.
To localize the UN’s SDGs and support the government to achieve them in the country.
To undertake the activities to minimize the growing impacts of climate change.
To prepare the provincial level ‘Youth Action Plan’ and submit to the local government and partner with them in implementation.

Criteria for participation in the conference

Above 18 years and below 30 years old.
Involved in social activities in his/her home district and should be involved in some kind of entrepreneurship.
Shall not be associated with any political party.
Produce at least three evidence s/he has conducted activities for social transformation.
In case a district does not have a balanced representation of a female and a male, efforts will be made to identify at least three alternate candidates to ensure equal representation.

THEMATIC WORKING SESSIONS:

The following themes will be the focus of the thematic papers:

SDGs; and,
Tourism (Visit Nepal 2020)
Climate Action (SDGs13)
Water Governacne (TROSA)
Youth Exchnage (Networking)
Provincial Plans of Action

The papers will be presented by experts. After the presentation of each thematic paper, commentators will provide their expert feedback. Following this, the floor will be opened for discussions. The main points discussed will be culled out at the end of each thematic paper discussion so that they can be used for developing the Provincial Plans of Action with innovative social entrepreneurial ideas.

National Youth Conference To Be Held With Participants From 77 Districts Of Nepal

With similar to past years, Nepal Youth Council is going to organize National Youth Conference 2019 on the occasion of International Youth Day 2019. It aims to bring youths from 77 districts together with a male and female participants from each. Tourism (Visit Nepal 2020), 50 Under 50 (Gender Equality), Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Youth Leadership and Youth Entrepreneurship are the major thematic areas of National Youth Conference 2019. The conference will be held in capital of Nepal, Kathmandu from 10-12 August.

There will be altogether 204 delegates including 77 females and 77 males from each district and 50 other participants representing different communities. Organizers believe that it will encourage inclusion confirming 50 % of female participants. Similar to past years youths aged 18-30 studying, working or doing social services in their own district or local level are eligible to apply for National Youth Conference 2019.

The youth participants must carry a recommendation letter from their local government showing proof of their academic or working activities in their own district. Before the conference, participants from each province must conduct a press conference and submit press release to the chief minister. Also, after attending the conference the participant must submit the declaration and press release to the chief minister of their respective province and local level. Nepal Youth Council has a province coordinator in each province of Nepal.

During the conference, each province will be given a stall in which participants can exhibit their art and culture and different local kinds of stuff to promote tourism of their province. The stall will be kept for the whole 3 days of the conference. To promote their art, culture, ethnicity, and tourism, participants must bring stuff by their own from their respective provinces.

Youth cultural night will also be organized during the conference in which participants must compulsorily be in their ethnic dress reflecting their culture. Similar to past years, the best idea of an action plan from each province will be given seed money in the conference. Action plan related to Tourism (Visit Nepal 2020), 50 Under 50 (Gender Equality), Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Youth Leadership and Youth Entrepreneurship will be presented.

Nepal Youth council has been active in the field of youth leadership, sustainable development goals, personality development since 7 years. The main motto of the National Youth Conference is to involve youth in a leading role in different social and economic activities of their provinces. Nepal Youth Council hopes that the participants of the conference will learn to bring positive changes in their society and be a leader.

40% of total population of Nepal is occupied by youths and to bring positive changes it is essential for the youths to be in the leading role in each level. Nepal Youth Council has been working in the theme “Youths are Change Makers” and it has been conducting National Youth Conference each year bringing participants from all around the nation in Kathmandu valley for 3 days. The first National Youth Conference 2015 included youth participants from 52 districts, National Youth Conference 2016 included participants’ from 68 districts, National Youth Conference 2017 included participants from 74 districts and National Youth Conference 2018 was able to include 204 participants from all 77 districts of Nepal. Also, Nepal Youth Council had organized SDGs festival in coordination with UNDP Nepal in all the 7 provinces of Nepal and it has been actively working to achieve Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and localizing the goals.

Best action plans prepared by 7 provinces in the National Youth Conference 2018 is being implemented with the help of seed money of Rs. 75,000 provided by Coca-Cola in each province.

Together with that, the Provincial Youth Conference will be held in each province to make youths of the local level more active by increasing their potential. There are more than 200 active members of Nepal Youth Council in each province of Nepal.

७७ जिल्लाका युवा सम्मेलित राष्ट्रिय युवा सम्मेलन २०१९ हुने

नेपाल युवा परिषदले विगतका बर्षहरुमा झैँ यो बर्षमा पनि नेपालभरिका ७७ वटै जिल्लाबाट प्रत्येक जिल्लाका १ युवा र १ युवतीहरुलाई राजधानीमा ल्याई अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय युवा दिवसको अवसरमा राष्ट्रिय युवा सम्मेलन २०१९ आयोजना गर्न लागेको छ । पर्यटन (नेपाल भ्रमण बर्ष २०२०), ५० अण्डर ५० (लैंगिक समानता), दिगो बिकास लक्ष्य, युवा नेतृत्व, र युवा उद्यमशिलतालाई मुख्य बिषय बनाई आयोजना गर्न लागेको हो र यस सम्मेलन राजधानी अगष्ट १०, ११ र १२ सम्म चल्नेछ ।

३ दिनसम्म चल्ने सम्मेलनमा २०४ जना युवाहरुको सहभागिता रहनेछ जसमा १५४ जना ७७ जिल्लाका १ महिला र १ पुरुष हुनेछ भने अन्य ५० जनामा बिभिन्न समुदायका युवाहरुलाई प्रतिनिधित्व गराई यस सम्मेलनले एक समावेशीताको उदारण हुनेछ भन्ने कुरामा आयोजक बिश्वस्त रहेको छ र जसमा ५० प्रतिशत महिलाहरु नै सहभागी हुनेछ । विगतका बर्षहरुमा झैँ यस बर्ष पनि १८ देखि ३० बर्ष उमेर समुहका युवाहरु आफ्नै स्थानीय तह वा आफ्नै जिल्लामा नै रही अध्ययन गरिरहेका वा व्यवसाय संचालन गरिरहेका वा सामाजिक रुपमा कार्यहरु गरिरहेका युवाहरुले मात्र राष्ट्रिय युवा सम्मेलन २०१९ मा सहभागि हुन पाउनेछन् ।

उक्त सम्मेलनमा सहभागि हुन आउने युवाहरुले स्थानिय सरकारसंग सोही जिल्लामा अध्ययन गरि बसिरहेको हो भनि सिफारिस पत्र लिएर मात्र सम्मेलनमा सहभागि हुन पाउनेछ । प्रत्येक प्रदेशका सहभागिहरुले सम्मेलनमा सहभागि हुन आउनु भन्दा अगाडी पत्रकार सम्मेलन गरी प्रेस विज्ञप्ती मुख्यमन्त्रीलाई बुझाउनुपर्नेछ साथै सम्मेलनमा सहभागि भई गए पश्चात् पनि सम्मेलनको घोषणापत्र र प्रेस विज्ञप्ती प्रदेशको मुख्यमन्त्री र स्थानीय निकायलाई बुझाउनेछन् । नेपाल युवा परिषदको ७ ओटै प्रदेशमा आफ्नो प्रदेश संयोजकहरु नियुक्ति भई कार्य गरिरहेका छन् ।

यसपटकको सम्मेलनमा प्रत्येक प्रदेशलाई १/१ स्टल दिईन्छ । जहाँ सहभागिहरुले आफ्नो प्रदेशको कला संस्कृति, पर्यटनलाई प्रवद्र्धन गर्ने बिभिन्न सामाग्री प्रदर्शनको लागि राख्न पाउनेछन् । त्यो स्टल तिन दिनसम्म नै कार्यक्रम स्थलमा राखिनेछ । ३ दिनको अबधिभरि राखिने स्टलहरुमा प्रत्येक प्रदेशको संस्कृति, पर्यटन र भेषभुषालाई प्रवद्र्धन गर्नको निम्ति राखिने साम्रगीहरु सहभागिहरुले आफैले ल्याउनु पर्ने हुन्छ ।

सम्मेलनमा युवा सांस्कृतिक साँझको आयोजना पनि गरिनेछ जहाँ सबै सहभागीहरुले अनिवार्य रुपमा आफ्नो जातिय पोसाकमा सहभागिता जनाउनु पर्नेछ । गत बर्ष झैँ यसपटक पनि प्रत्येक प्रदेशले बनाएको बिभिन्न कार्ययोजना मध्ये एक उत्कृष्ट कार्ययोजनालाई सिडमनी प्रदान गरिनेछ । सम्मेलनमा पर्यटन (नेपाल भ्रमण बर्ष २०२०), ५० अण्डर ५० (लैंगिक समानता), दिगो बिकास लक्ष्य, युवा नेतृत्व, र युवा उद्यमशीलतालाई मुख्य बिषय बनाई बिभिन्न प्रस्तोताहरुबाट कार्यपत्र प्रस्तुत गरिनेछ ।

विगत ७ बर्ष देखि युवाको नेतृत्व, उद्यमशिलता, दिगो विकासको लक्ष्य र व्यक्तित्व बिकासको क्षेत्रमा सक्रिय नेपाल युवा परिषदले सबै प्रदेशका युवाहरुलाई स्थानिय आर्थिक तथा सामाजिक क्षेत्रमा नेतृत्वदायी भुमिका ल्याउने उदेश्यका राष्ट्रिय युवा सम्मेलन आयोजना गर्न लागेको हो । सम्मेलनमा सहभागी युवाहरुले नेतृत्वदायी भुमिकामा आएर समाजका सकारात्मक परिवर्तनको लागि केही नयाँ कुरा सिक्नेछ भन्ने आशा नेपाल युवा परिषदले लिएको छ ।

नेपालको कुल जनसंख्याको करिव ४० प्रतिशत हिस्सा ओगटेको युवा जमातले नेतृत्वदायी भुमिकामा आउन आवश्यक देखिन्छ तबमात्र केही परिवर्तन आउन सक्छ । युवा परिवर्तनको संवाहक हो भन्ने नाराको साथ काम गर्दै आईरहेको नेपाल युवा परिषदले हरेक बर्ष नेपाल अधिराज्यभरिबाट युवाहरुलाई राजधानीमा भेला गराई राष्ट्रिय युवा सम्मेलन आयोजना गर्दैे आइरहेको छ । पहिलोपटक राष्ट्रिय युवा सम्मेलन २०१५ आयोजना गर्दा ५२ जिल्ला, राष्ट्रिय युवा सम्मेलन २०१६ मा ६८ जिल्ला, त्यसैगरि सन् २०१७ मा ७४ जिल्ला र २०१८ मा ७७ वटै जिल्लाका २०४ जना युवाहरुको सहभागितामा राष्ट्रिय युवा सम्मेलन आयोजना गर्न सफल भईसकेको छ । साथै ७ ओटै प्रदेशमा युएनडिपी नेपालको सहकार्यमा एसडिजी फेस्टिबल आयोजना गरी दिगो विकास लक्ष्य प्राप्ती गर्न र दिगो विकास लक्ष्यलाई स्थानियकरण गर्न पनि नेपाल युवा परिषद धेरै नै सक्रिय रहेको छ ।

सन् २०१८ मा सम्पन्न भएको “राष्ट्रिय युवा सम्मेलन २०१८” मा हरेक प्रदेशबाट प्रस्तुत गरेको योजनाहरुबाट १/१ ओटा योजनालाई कोका कोलासँगको सहकार्यमा रु.७५,००० सिड फण्ड उपलब्ध गराई हरेक प्रदेशमा योजना कार्यन्वयन भईरहेको छ ।

साथै यसै बर्ष हरेक प्रदेशमा “प्रदेश युवा सम्मेलन” गरी स्थानीय तहमा रहेका युवाहरुलाई क्षमता अभिबृद्धि गरी उनीहरुलाई थप कृयाशिल बनाईनेछ । हरेक प्रदेशमा नेपाल युवा परिषदको करिब २०० जना भन्दा बढी सक्रिय सदस्यहरु रहेको छ ।

११ बुँदे धनगढी घोषणा पत्र जारी गर्दै प्रदेश युवा सम्मेलन धनगढीमा सम्पन्न

युवाहरुलाई आफनै देशमा उद्यम गर्न वातावरण सृजना गर्नु पर्नेमा जोड
सोम गुरुङ, धनगढी २ जेष्ठ ÷ उद्यमी युवा समृद्ध देश : दिगो विकास लक्ष्यमा समान परिवेश भन्ने मुल नाराका साथ शुरु भएको प्रदेश युवा सम्मेलन ११ बुँदे धनगढी घोषणा पत्र जारी गर्दै जेष्ठ २ मा सम्पन्न भएको छ । नेपाल युवा परिषदले पहिलो पटक सुदुरपश्चिम प्रदेशमा यो सम्मेलन आयोजना गरेको थियो । सुदुरपश्चिम प्रदेशका ९ वटै जिल्लाका युवाहरुको सहभागितामा शुरु भएको युवा सम्मेलनको उद्घाटन सामाजिक विकास मन्त्री माननीय कृष्णराज सुवेदीले गर्नुभएको थियो ।

दुई दिन सम्म चलेको सो सम्मेलनमा सहभागि युवाहरुलाई पर्यटन, सुचना प्रबिधि, दिगो विकासका लक्ष्यहरु, जलवायु परिवर्तन, भिजिट नेपाल २०२०, युवा उद्यमशिलता, नेतृत्व विकास, युथ मोटिभेसन लगायतको विषयमा प्रशिक्षण दिईएको थियो । दोश्रो दिन सुदुरपश्चिम प्रदेशका युवाहरुले आफनो प्रदेशमा युवाको क्षमता विकासको लागि कार्ययोजना बनाएका थिए । यस प्रदेश युवा सम्मेलनमा जारी गरिएको ११ बुँदे धनगढी घोषणा पत्र र कार्ययोजनालार्ई प्रदेश सरकार र स्थानीय सरकारका प्रमुखलार्ई शुक्रवार नै बुझाई सकेको जनकारी नेपाल युवा परिषदका संस्थापक अध्यक्ष सरोज बानियाले जानकारी दिनुभएको थियो । सुदुरपश्चिम प्रदेशका ९ वटै जिल्लाको २२० बढी युवाहरुको सहभागिता रहेको नेपाल युवा परिषद सुदुरपश्चिम प्रदेशका संयोजक बसन्ती सापकोटाले जानकारी दिनु भयो ।

ASIAN SENSATION! MASTERPEACE’S ASIAN YOUTH SUMMIT CONNECTED THE CONTINENT FOR IMPACT

On the 24th of March, we wrapped up three days of MasterPeace’s Asian Youth Summit, with over 40 participants from different Asian countries accompanied by some global ones coming together for discussions, connections and finding concrete actions for the vast continent. The teams came together for peace at the perfect location near the heart of the famous Swayambhunath Temple in Kathmandu, the famed Buddhist shrine and UNESCO World Heritage.

Nearby the 8000 meters summits of the Himalaya’s, one more summit was added, as the Asian Youth Summit titled “Creating impact. Together” was attended by the growing MasterPeace network in Asia. The summit brought together MasterPeace teams from 8 current and 5 new Clubs to exchange Best Practices among each other, as well as attend various workshops and meet representatives from businesses and civil society in Nepal with the goal of mutual inspiration and co-creation.

Asian Youth Summit 2019

The summit was organized jointly by MasterPeace Foundation, MasterPeace NYC – Nepal, and Nepal Youth Council (NYC Nepal) and attended by MasterPeace Clubs from Nepal, India, Myanmar, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh including many other impactful organizations in the region such as Culture Monks, Aarohan, DajjuVai – Nepal Brothers, VIEWS India, Khushiyaan and notable presence of UNDP Nepal, Rotary Club and many others.

Although today Asia holds more than 60 percent of the world’s population, this decade is unprecedented with immense complex challenges and parallel opportunities. As Asia’s dramatic economic growth and technological progress came with many development challenges, it has left Asia at a critical crossroads for the future.

Our MasterPeace answer was to address the challenges in a positive way, and turn them in opportunities.

The approach is three-fold: 1) Through music, art and play which are central to the Asian culture, we can mobilize, connect and inspire the youngsters to have 2) a dialogue within themselves and with local stakeholders in order to 3) create (local) perspective for the benefit of all. We agreed that the lack of perspective puts an enormous pressure on society.

The 40 participants represented 8 different countries, and the discussions were focused on the following Sustainable Development Goals, as set by the UN: Quality Education (SDG 4), Gender Equality (SDG 5), Climate Action (SDG 13) and Peace and Justice (SDG 16).

Our vision is that the world inhabits 7 billion talents, not 7 billion issues. It takes the ‘action’ of you and me. We can only progress when we are “Creating peace. Together.”.

With this is mind, most of the summit was spent on sharing Best Practices in small groups, all related to the focused SDGs. We put the slogan “Creating peace. Together.” into practice by coming up with concrete action-points for Creating campaigns and Concepts. Together.

A brief overview of potential campaigns that we will discuss with all global MasterPeace Clubs:

The international Women’s Day, which celebrates the role of women in the continent while considering their role on a global level.

The WE-Men‘s Day, a unique concept from Kathmandu-Nepal (with a focus on educating men on gender issues) – an innovative angle for addressing gender balance.

The 5^th of June is World Environment Day. Changemakers from Khushiyaanin Mumbai-India implemented a inspiring “trash challenge”: (see video here).

The 21^st of September the International day of Peace, the unifying moment for MasterPeace which we continue to celebrate since our start in 2011.

During the workshops, teams shared the Best Practices from, to and within the Clubs of what can practically work in Asia. These included sessions entitled “Improving School Education in Rural Nepal”, “Transformation of Marginalized Communities Through Art”, “Combatting Climate Change under the Flag of #creationabovedestruction”, and “Tools for Promoting Gender Equality as Part of Formal and Non-Formal Education”.

Children in primary schools write simple but heartfelt letters with empathy to children at the other slide of the border (India-Pakistan; Bangladesh-Myanmar).

Non-formal education concepts in the slums of Bangladesh, India, Nepal and Pakistan face similar challenges that can be addressed with similar innovative solutions.

In India some of our clubs provide food to children in the slums. Together the idea is to continue working on the next level of social entrepreneurship

Sri Lanka and Pakistan will work on an Interfaith Dialogue Center in co-creation with our expert Club in Ukraine.

The AYS is a powerful formula that we hope to bring to a yearly Summit in the region and perhaps per country (inspired by the African Youth Leadership Summit by MasterPeace Morocco).

SDGs: Youth And Environment

Nepal Youth Council and MasterPeace organized a day program on “SDGs: Youth and Environment” on 29^th March 2019. The program held in Kathmandu was supported by VSO Nepal. The program was basically focused on youth and their role to achieve Sustainable Development Goals. More than 70 youths from different backgrounds were the participants. Majority of them was a student of environmental sciences and agricultural sciences. There was 3 main speaker for the program.

Bindu Bhandari who is media assistant at ICIMOD shared her climate journey. She was mainly focused on her topic “SDGs and Climate Action”. She talked about COP21, Paris Agreements, limiting global temperature rise to 1.5 degree Celsius and many more. She shared her personal stories which turned out to be an inspiring one to the participants. She also emphasized on Climate Action which is goal number 13 of SDGs. She describe role of individual in mitigating climate change.

Saroj Baniya, central president of Nepal Youth Council mainly focused on SDGs. He explain about MDGs, SDGs and role of youth in its achievement. He explained how Nepal Youth Council has been engaging youths of Nepal in localizing SDGs. He also explained about the project, “MY SDGs, MY DREAMS” of Nepal Youth Council in which 17 youths are working as a resource person of 17 different goals and playing vital role for the localization of SDGs in Nepal. “SDGs was initiated in 2016 and it is already 3 years now. Many countries are in the phase of achieving the targets and goals through different indicators while in Nepal people are still not aware about the global goals. This is where youths must play role to fill the gap and help to achieve the goals for the sake of our country.” Baniya said.

The other speaker was Regan Sapkota who is a program coordinator at Greenhood Nepal. He talked about sustainable use of resources and protection of environment. He also explained how youths can play a role by filling the communication gap between local level and government. Sapkota motivated youths by highlighting works of the youngest climate activist Greta Thunberg and the climate strike. Also, he informed participant about the ongoing projects of government, INGOs and NGOs relating environment and forestry in which they could get opportunities.

A day program was successfully conducted by Nepal Youth Council with the support of VSO Nepal. It went very interactive and fruitful.

Worry Youths, Climate Change Is Here!

Kathmandu, December 23, 2018: A day program on “Worry Youths, Climate Change is here!” was organized by Nepal Youth Council (NYC Nepal) on December 22 at Amrit Campus, Kathmandu. The program was focused on youths, climate change and as a whole sustainable development goal. The main objective of the program was to make youths aware of COP24 & its achievements and role of youth to achieve Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). More than 70 participants from the different academic background were presented there for the program.

The speakers of the program were Navin Singh Khadka, an Environmental Correspondent at BBC World Service, Manjeet Dhakal, head of LDC supports team at Climate Analytics, Praveen Kumar Regmi, a lecturer at Tri Chandra Multiple Campus and Pradeep Bhattarai, program officer at Prakriti Resource Centre.

Mr. Khadka highlighted some extreme events that the world has been facing from ages due to climate change. He noted that the current pledge on climate change will lead to more than 3 degree Celsius of temperature rise which means more and more extreme events will occur in near future. He highlighted the threats from across the border of Nepal, India’s dust storms, Glacier Lake i.e. enjoying a high profile, shaky grounds, rattled mountains, water wars, Landslide Dammed Lake Outburst Flood (LDLOF) and Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).

Mr. Dhakal highlighted the role of delegates from ministerial level, NGOs and Medias in COP24. He also talked about the report of IPCC that has mentioned to limit earth’s temperature up to 1.5 degree Celsius. He mentioned that the main objective of the COP24 was to finalize Paris Agreement implementation guidelines, to brief on climate finance and capacity building to make a healthier, safer and prosperous planet.

Mr. Regmi focused on the importance of youth for the development of a nation. He also talked about SDGs and 5Ps i.e. people, planet, prosperity, peace, and partnership. He also called attention the targets and indicators of the SDG number 13 i.e. Climate Action. He showed up the roles of youth in achieving SDGs by being a youth in imparting education, awareness building, policy maker, advocacy, volunteerism, entrepreneurship, disaster preparedness, campaigner, capacity builder, and innovation & technology. He emphasized on the localization of SDGs being a responsible citizen.

Mr. Bhattarai shared the experiences he had during COP24. Being a youth delegate in COP24 he had raised youth voice for climate justice. He accentuated about the achievements of COP24, Paris Agreements, and the report of IPCC about limiting earth’s temperature up to 1.5 degree Celsius, bilateral meetings and Climate March. He also talked about Paris Rule Book and the guidelines developed to implement it.

The program organized by Nepal Youth Council (NYC Nepal) had sparrow as an SMS partner, Khalti as a digital partner and Glocal Khabar as an online partner.

नेपाल युवा परिषदको जिल्ला शाखा अछाममा अछामको सम्भाबना बोकेको क्रियाशिल युवा भिम बहादुर साउद अध्यक्षमा नियुक्ति भएको छ ।

जिल्ला शाखा अछाममा १३ सदस्यीय कार्यसमिति गठन भएको छ जसमा उपाध्यक्ष गोबिन्द्र कुँवर, सचिबमा पूर्ण बुढा, कोषध्यक्षमा यमेश्वरी ढुंगाना र सदस्यहरुमा हिरेन्द्र प्र. मुडवरी, नमराज भण्डारी, ईन्द्र ब. थापा, जिवन बुढा, गायात्री कुँवर, लोकसरा केसी, सुकेन्द्र साउँद, देवसरा बोगटी र निर्मला खड्का लगायतका रहेका छन् ।

अछाम जिल्ला कृषी पर्यटन लगायका क्षेत्रमा प्रचुर सम्भावना बोकेको जिल्ला भएता पनि यसको बिकास र यहाँ भएका बहुमुल्य जडिबुटीको पहिचान र प्रसोधन हुन नसकेकाले त्यसको पहिचान गर्ने, रामारोशन, खप्तड, बान्नीगढी, पञ्चदेवल, बैजनाथ लगायका पर्यटकीय क्षेत्रको प्रचार प्रसार गर्ने र बिद्यमान बिभिन्न खाले कुप्रथाको अन्त्य गगर्नका साथै बेरोजगार युवाहरुलाई स्वदेशमै स्वरोजगार बनाउने मुख्य उद्देश्य परिषदका रहेको छ । यस्तै नेपाल युवा परिषदले चाँडै अछाम जिल्लाका १० ओटै स्थानिय तहमा आफ्नो सञ्जाल बिस्तार गर्ने निर्णय समेत गरेको छ ।

नेपाल युवा परिषद एक बुशुद सामाजिक र गैरराजौतिक संस्था हो र यस परिषदले ४० भन्दा बढी जिल्लाका युवाहरुँग कार्य गर्दै आईरहेको छ र निकट भबिष्यमा सबै ७७ ओटै जिल्लामा यस परिषदको शाखा बिस्तार गरी जिल्ला कमिटिहरु निर्माण गर्ने कुराको जानकारी परिषदको अध्यक्ष सरोज बानियाँले बताउनुभयो ।

राजधानीमा GIS को तालिम संचालन

नेपाल युवा परिषदको आयोजना तथा को प्राबिधिक सहयोगमा राजधानीमा ७ दिने सम्बन्धि तालिम सुरु भएको छ । नेपाल युवा परिषदको महासचिब बिराज श्रेष्ठले सहभागीहरुलाई स्वागत गर्दै तालिमको सुरुवात भएको हो ।

१९ जना सहभागी रहेको यस तालिममा मुख्य प्रशिक्षकको रुपमा नेपालको प्रथम जियोम्यट्रिक इन्जिनियर असिम बाबु श्रेष्ठ रहनुभएको छ । तालिम अवधिभरमा सहभाीहरुलाई पूर्ण रुपमा जानकारी दिई काम गर्न सक्ने बनाउने उदेश्य रहेको जानकारी प्रशिक्षक श्रेष्ठले दिनु भयो ।

यस तालिममा बन्यजन्तु बिषयमा अध्ययनरत बिद्यार्थीहरु, बाताबरण बिषयमा अध्ययनरत बिद्यार्थीहरु, सुचना प्रबिधि बिषयमा अध्ययनरत बिद्यार्थीहरु, अन्य बिभिन्न बिषयमा अध्ययनरत बिद्यार्थीहरु, बिभिन्न सरकारी तथा गैरसरकारी कार्यालयमा कार्यरत कर्मचारीहरु, ट्राभल एण्ड टेकि ङ्ग कम्पनिमा कार्यरत कर्मचारीहरु सहभागी रहेको छ । यस तालिम सेप्टेम्बर २० सम्म संचालन रहनेछ ।

WILDLIFE TRAINING – 17 DAYS RESEARCH BASED TRAINING IN NEPAL

WILDLIFE TRAINING IN NEPAL: Nepal’s biodiversity ranges from the lowlands in Terai to the high mountain regions of the Himalayas, and holds a diverse ecosystem imperative to the country’s culture and livelihood. However, intensive research and in depth study of the region’s flora and fauna is greatly deficient due to a lack of technical knowledge, quality education, skills training, and resources for researchers. Especially missing is a recognition on the importance of engaging and empowering a younger generation of researchers and conservation advocates as they relate to the long term health and sustainability of Nepal’s ecosystems. Support for wildlife and land conservation dwindles due to the absence of information of the current state of ecosystem health and scarcity of engagement towards younger generations to get involved in environmentalist causes. A 17 day training program in partnership with the Nepal Youth Council aims to fill the gap between theoretical and practical knowledge amongst students currently interested in the conservation field in Nepal. We look to provide the skills, resources, education, and a supportive network to empower aspiring environmentalists to take charge in leading the region towards wildlife and land conservation necessary for long term sustainability. Included in the training will be hands-on research, photography seminars, and use of technology in the field, culminating with 10 written and submitted research reports.

OBJECTIVES OF THE TRAINING

To equip 10 students interested in conservation with the skills, techniques, knowledge, and support to carry out wildlife research in Nepal.
To provide field based research knowledge to 10 Nepal students, resulting in 10 field reports created by participants.
To connect 10 Nepal students to CoalitionWILD’s network for empowerment, support, and inspiration,
To develop a replicable curriculum to employ in other areas of Nepal, potentially also spanning other regions

Participant shall be above 20 years and below 30 years old.

राजधानीमा “कनेक्टिङ युथ टु नेचर” नामक अन्तरक्रिया कार्यक्रम सम्पन्न

बिश्व वाताबरण दिवसको अवसर पारेर नेपाल युवा परिषदको आयोजनामा राजधानीमा “कनेक्टिङ युथ टु नेचर” नामक अन्तरक्रिया कार्यक्रम सम्पन्न भएको छ । युवाहरुले वाताबरण संरक्षणको लागि दिनसक्ने योगदानको साथै वाताबरणको बिषयमा बिश्वभरि चलिरहेको कार्यक्रमहरुको बारेमा यस क्षेत्रमा सक्रिय युवाहरुसंग अन्तरक्रिया गरेका थिए ।

कार्यक्रममा सोसियल एड्र्डेस नामक रिसर्च सेन्टरका डिरेक्टर पुण्य भण्डारीले सहभागिहरुलाई दिगो बिकासका उदेश्यहरुको बारेमा जानकारी गराएका थिए । उनले बिश्वको सामु चुनौतीको रुपमा रहेको मौसम परिवर्तन, बढ्दो तापक्रमको कारण र यसलाई कम कसरी गर्न सकिन्छ भन्ने बिषयमा सहभागिहरुलाई जानकारी गराएका थिए ।

कार्यक्रममा मिस टुरिजम जेनी आमात्यले पर्यटनको बिकास र यसमा देखिएको समस्या समाधानको बिषयमा चालिनुपर्ने कदमको बारेमा जानकारी गराएकी थिइन् । कार्यक्रममा वाइल्ड लाइफ फोटोग्राफरले ओम प्रसाद यादवले वाइल्ड लाइफ फोटोग्राफी सम्बन्धि चुनौती र यसको सम्भावनाको बारेमा अवगत गराए भने अमिशा पोखरेलले वन विज्ञानको बिषयमा सहभागिलाई जानकारी गराएकी थिइन् ।

यसैगरि कार्यक्रममा नेपाल युवा परिषदका अध्यक्ष सरोज बानियाँज्युले नेपाल युवा परिषदको बारेमा सहभागिहरुलाई जानकारी गराएका थिए । एसएमसिआरएफका प्रतिनिधी हेम प्रसाद कट्वालज्युले यस संस्थाले गर्ने कार्यहरुको बारेमा सहभागिहरुलाई अवगत गराएका थिए । कार्यक्रममा बिश्व वन्यजन्तु कोषका डेपुटि डिरेक्टर युगान मानन्धर र ग्रिन हुड नेपालका प्रतिनिधी रेगन सापकोटाले उनीहरुको वाताबरण सम्बन्धि बिषय र मौसम परिवर्तनको बिषयमा युवाहरुलाई कसरी सुसुचित आवद्ध बनाउन सकिन्छ भन्ने बिषयमा समग्रमा जानकारी गराएका थिए

कार्यक्रममा सहभागिहरुलाई नेपाल अटोमोवाइल एशोसिएशन फण्डका महासचिव गोविन्द भट्टराई र विश्व वन्यजन्तु कोषका डेपुटि डिरेक्टर युगान मानन्धरले प्रमाणपत्र वितरण गरेको थियो । कार्यक्रम वाताबरण, बनजंगल, पर्यटन आदि क्षेत्रमा अध्ययन गरिरहेका ३५ जना युवाहरुको सहभागि रहेको थियो ।

One Day Interaction Program On “Connecting Youths To Nature”

INTRODUCTION AND BACKGROUND

“World Environment Day has been celebrated on 5^th June annually since 1974 .This year, this very day is being celebrated with the theme “Connecting People to Nature” . This day has been remembered and prioritized by conservationists all over the world from the date of its declaration. Since the day is not enough for the sustainable environment management, Nepal Council (NYC) is bringing a one day interaction program on this day to unite youths of the country to make long term contribution on environment conservation.

As we know from polar bears in the Arctic to marine turtles off the coast of Africa, our planet’s diversity of life is at risk from the changing climate. Sea levels are rising and oceans are becoming warmer. Longer, more intense droughts threaten crops, wildlife and freshwater supplies. From polar bears in the Arctic to marine turtles off the coast of Africa, our planet’s diversity of life is at risk from the changing climate. In context of Nepal, climate change is creating habitat issues in wildlife management. Climate change has been one of the core issues in the field of wildlife conservation. Hence greater recognition is essential among the people to usher the biodiversity conservation. For this young students who can be key actors in conservation need to understand the conservation significance of wildlife and ecosystem services they provide. Training and awareness raising programs such as workshops, interaction programs, and rallies are of paramount importance to foster the greater appreciation towards wildlife conservation and raise voice against climate changing factors. These programs can act as a catalytic role in convincing students to enrich their understanding of climate changing factors.

Hence this one day interaction program is proposed here to motivate the students to participate in climate conservation, understand the impacts of climate change in daily livelihood and develop leadership in speaking regarding conservation issues.

OBJECTIVES:

The main objective of this one day interaction program is to have in-depth discussion on climate changing factors, its impacts in the mountainous country like Nepal and daily livelihood of people.

Specific objectives are:

To inspire the participants to involve in conserving the environment, controlling climate changing factors and its present issues and threats.
To promote art exhibition.
To encourage students to co-ordinate in restoring wildlife habitat, promote environment friendly activities, raise voice against climate changing factors.

कञ्चनपुर घटनाको विरोध सन्दर्भमा नेपाल युवा परिषदको प्रेस विज्ञप्ति

कञ्चनपुरको नेपाल–भारत सीमा क्षेत्रमा कल्भर्ट निर्माणको विषयमा विवाद हुँदा भारतीय सीमा सुरक्षा बलले गोली चलाएपछि नेपाली नागरिक गोविन्द गौतमको मृत्यु भएको घटना प्रति नेपाल युवा परिषद स्तब्ध भएको छ ।

कञ्चनपुरको दुःखद घटनामा ज्यान गुमाउने गोविन्द गौतम प्रति श्रद्धाञ्जली, व्यक्त गर्दै मृतकका परिवारप्रति समवेदना प्रकट गदछौ । घटनाको उच्चस्तरीय न्यायिक छानवीन गरी दोषीलाई कारवाही गर्न हामी जोडदार माग गर्दछौं । उक्त घटनाको सत्यतथ्य बाहिर निकाल्न समेत ध्यानाकर्षण गर्दछौ ।

आदरणीय न्याय तथा राष्ट्र प्रेमी नेपाली दाजुभाई तथा दिदी बहिनीहरु, २०७३ फागुन २६ गते कंचनपुरको आनन्द बजारमा नेपालीहरुले कल्भट निर्माण गर्न लाग्दा गुगलम्यापले भारतको भुमि देखाएको भन्दै काम रोक्ने धम्की दिएपछि विवाद सुरु भएको अवस्थामा भारतीय सिमा सुरक्षा बल एसएसबी ले चलाएको गोली लागेर आफ्नै मातृभुमीमा नेपाली नागरिक गोविन्द गौतमको मृत्यु भएको छ ।

नेपाली नागरिकलाई आफ्नै भुमिमा गोली प्रहार गरी मारिदा समेत सरकारले कुनै ठोस निर्णय गरी भारतीय पक्षसँग जवाफ माग्नु पर्ने अवस्थामा आफ्नो नागरिक मारिदा पनि मूकदर्शक बनी आफ्नै भुमिमा आफ्नै नागरिक मारिदा पनि प्रतिक्रिया बिहिन बनेको छ सरकार । सरकारले उक्त बिषयमा भारतीय पक्षसँग स्पष्ट जवाफ माग्नुपर्दछ र दोषीलाई पनि यथासिघ्र कारवाही गर्न र देशभक्ति नेपालीहरुको मनमा मलम लगाउने काम चाडै नै यो सरकार गर्नु पर्दछ ।

राष्ट्रप्रेमी जनताले देश जोगाउने गरेको कार्यप्रति सरकारले प्रशंशा गर्दै उक्त मृतक परिवाजनप्रति सहानुभुति प्रदान गरी अन्य देशभक्ति जनतालाई देशको आत्मरक्षा गर्नको निमित्त थप हौसला प्रदान गर्नुपर्दछ । यसरी आफ्नै सिमा मिचेको हेरेर कहिल्यै सम्म बस्ने नेपाली जनताहरु र यसको लागि निति निर्माणमा बसेका सम्पूर्ण आदरणीय व्यक्तिहरुलाई गम्भिर बन्न हार्दिक अनुरोध गदछौ र उक्त घटनाको सत्यतथ्य बाहिर निकाल्न समेत ध्यानाकर्षण गर्दछौ ।

राष्ट्रिय युवा परिषद, नेपालको आयोजनामा ३ दिन सम्म संचालन भएको राष्टिय युवा सम्मेलन २०१६ भब्यताको साथ सम्पन्न भएको छ ।

अन्र्तराष्ट्रिय युवा दिवस २०१६ को अवसरमा बिश्व नेतृत्वमा युवा भन्ने नाराका साथ राष्ट्रिय युवा सम्मेलन २०१६ को आयोजना गरिएको हो । माननीय युवा तथा खेलकुद मन्त्रीले उद्घाटन गरेको उक्त सम्मेलन ३ दिन सम्म राजधानीमा संचालन भई शुक्रबार सम्पन्न भएको थियो ।

७३ ओटा जिल्लाहरुबाट १६४ जना युवाहरुको सहभागीतामा राजधानीमा ३ दिन सम्म बिभिन्न बिषयहरुमा बिभिन्न व्यक्तिहरुले बिभिन्न बिषयमा कार्यपत्र प्रस्तुत गरी बिभिन्न बिषयहरुको जानकारी गराएका थिए ।

सम्मेलनमा बिभिन्न राजनैतिक पार्टिका युवा नेताहरुले पनि नेपाली युवा र राजनैतिक बिचको सम्बन्धको बारेमा जानकारी गराएका थिए । नेकपा एमालेबाट युवा नेता एवं सबिधान सभाको सदस्य एवं बिकास समितिको सभापति रबिन्द्र अधिकारी, नेपाल परिबार दलको नेता एवं सबिधान सभाको सदस्य मिलनराज बंशी, मालेको नेता एवं सबिभान सभाको सदस्य अईन्द्र सुन्दर नेम्वाङ्ग, नेपाली काग्रेसबाट मान बहादुर न्यौपाने लगाएको व्यक्तिहरुको उपस्थिति रहेको थियो ।

सम्मेलनमा समाजमा योगदान पु¥याउने बिभिन्न व्यक्तिहरु उत्तम संजेल, महाबिर पुन, सबिता उप्रेती, मिलन राई, संजय पण्डित र रुक्सना कपाली लगाएतका व्यक्तिहरुसँग सामाजिक नेतृत्वको बारेमा सहभागीहरुसंग अन्र्तक्रिया भएको थियो ।

त्यसै गरी बिभिन्न युवा संस्थाहरुको अध्यक्षहरुको उपस्थितिमा युवाहरुको क्षेत्रमा के र कस्ता खालको काम गर्न सकिन्छ भनि सहभागीहरु सँग छलफल गरेका थिए । यस सेसनमा आयोनको अध्यक्ष ब्रमिम कुमार केसी, युवा अभियानको अध्यक्ष अब्दुस मिया, दलित युथ एलाईन्सको अध्यक्ष चेत नारायण रसाइली र गैसस एनजिओ युवा फ्रेड्रेसनको अध्यक्ष कमल सुबेदी लगाएतको व्यक्तिहरुको उपस्थिति थियो ।

दोस्रो दिन अमेरिकामा रहेको युवाहरु संग अनलाईनबाट नेपालमा आगामी दिनमा कुन क्षेत्रमा कार्य गर्न सकिन्छ भनी छलफल गरी आगामी दिनमा शैक्षिक क्षेत्रमा कार्य गर्ने कुराको निश्र्कष निकाली उक्त अनलनईको छलफल कार्यक्रम सम्पन्न पछि उद्यमशीलताको बिषयमा नेपाली युवा उद्यमी मंचबाट युवा उद्यमीहरुको सहभागीतामा युवा र उद्यमशिलताको बिषयमा व्यापक छलफल भई उक्त क्षेत्रमा रहको चुनौती र सम्भाबानाको बिषयमा पनि छलफल भएको थियो । यस सेसनमा बाजेको सेकुवाको प्रबन्ध निर्देशक चेतन भण्डारी, कारखानाको प्रमुख कार्यकारी अधिकृत पबित्रा गौतम र फ्रेस स्नयाक्स प्रमुख कार्यकारी अधिकृत बिशा बलामीको उपस्थिति थियो ।

त्यसै गरी सडक सुरक्षाको बिषयमा नासाका महासचिब गोबिन्द्र भट्टराईले आफ्नो प्रस्तुतीकरण दिएका थिए । र श्रम तथा रोजगार मन्त्रालयका उपसचिब जिबन कुमार राई र नेपालका लागि अन्र्तराष्ट्रिय श्रम संगठन को राष्ट्रिय परियोजना संयोजक सौरभ राम जोशीले बिशेष गरी रोजगार सुचना केन्द्रको बारेमा सहभागीहरुलाई जानकारी दिएको थियो ।

सुनौलो परिबार नेपालको निर्देशक संचार तथा मार्केटिङ्ग सत्यजित प्रदान र युवा कार्यक्रम संयोजक निलिमा राउतले “Youth Sexual Reproductive Health and Family Planning” को बिषयमा सहभागीहरुलाई जानकारी दिएका थिए ।

तस्रो दिन नेकपा एमालेको नेता प्रदिप ज्ञवाली र अन्र्तराष्ट्रिय सम्बधको प्राध्यपक प्रेम खनालको उपस्थितिमा अहिलेको परिस्थितिमा नेपालको अन्र्तराष्ट्रिय सम्बन्ध बारेमा आफ्नो कार्यपत्र प्रस्तुत गरी सहभागीहरुलाई नेपालले अन्र्तराष्ट्रिय सम्बन्ध कायम राख्नलाई गर्नु पर्ने कार्यहरुको बारेमा पनि जानकारी दिएका थिए ।

उद्योग बाणिज्य महासंघको अध्यक्ष पशुपति मुराक्कासंग पनि उद्योग बाणिज्य महासंघको हलमा करिब २ घण्टा सम्म नेपालको उद्योग व्यवसायको अवस्थाको बारेमा छलफल गरेको थिए ।

अन्र्तराष्ट्रिय मेटिभेसनल स्पिकर रंजित आचार्यले सहभागीहरुलाई थप प्रेरणा दिनलाई बिभिन्न कुराहरुको जानकारी अडियो भिडीको माध्यमबाट आफ्नो प्रस्तुतीकरण दिएका थिए । सहभागीहरुमा रहेको केही भ्रमहरु तोडी उनीहरुलाई थप हौसला दिनलाई बिभिन्न कुराहरु शेयर गरेका कुराको जानकारी राष्ट्रिय युवा परिषद, नेपालको अध्यक्ष सरोज बानियाँले गरेका थिए ।

राष्ट्रिय युवा परिषद, नेपालको यो तेस्रो राष्ट्रिय युवा सम्मेलन हो र यसै गरी सन् २०१७ मा पनि राष्ट्रिय युवा सम्मेलन गरी ७५ ओटै जिल्लाहरुबाट युवाहरु सहभागी गराई थप युवाहरुलाई पनि प्रेरण दिने कुराको जानकारी राष्ट्रिय युवा परिषद, नेपालको केन्द्रिय कार्यक्रम संयोजक शुर्दसन बिडारीले बताउनु भयो ।

यस सम्मेलनको आयोजना राष्ट्रिय युवा परिषद, नेपालले गरेको हो भने सह आयोजकको रुपमा एशियन इन्सिटिच्युट अफ डिपलोम्यासी एण्ड ईन्टरनेशनल अफिर्यस रहेको छ भने अनकन मुख्य प्रायोजनमा रहेको छ भने, सहयोगी संस्थाहरुमा अन्र्तराष्ट्रिय श्रम संगठन आईएलो, सुनौलो परिवार नेपाल, किग्सं कलेज, मेघा बैकं नेपाल, नासा, मास्टर पिस, ई प्रेस, शुभ मिडिया ग्रुप प्रालि., हिमालयन अनलाईन सभिर्सेस, स्प्यारो एस. एम. एस रहेको थियो ।

पोखरामा सठक ठोस फोहोर व्यवस्थापन अभियान सुरु

पर्यटकीय नगरी पोखरामा तिन महिना लामो समय सम्म संचालन हुने सठक ठोस फोहोर व्यवस्थापन अभियानको एक कार्यक्रम बिच उद्घाटन सम्पन्न भयो ।

राष्टिय युवा परिषद, नेपालको आयोजना, बाबा फाउन्डेसनको सहआयोजना र लियो क्लब पोखरा लेकसाईड, मिन्स रुम रिलोडेड ः एम.आर. आर, मास्टरपिस एन.ओई.सी नेपाल, लायन्स क्लब पोखरा सेन्ट्ररल सहयोग साथै सहयोगी संस्थाको रुपमा क्यट आडमसन कन्झरभेसन फण्ड रहेको छ ।

पोखरा उपमहनगरपालिकाका निमित्त कार्यकारी प्रमुख ओमराज पौडेलको प्रमुख आतिथ्यतामा सम्पन्न उद्घाटन समारोहमा सम्पन्न भएको थियो । त्यसै गरी अतिथिहरुमा बन बिज्ञान अध्ययन संस्थान सहायक डिन जिबननाथ पाण्डे, बन बिज्ञान अध्ययन संस्थानकै क्याम्पस प्रमुख बिर बहादुर खनाल क्षेत्री, बाबा फाउन्डेसको प्रबन्ध निर्देशक अमृता पौडेल, पोखरा पर्यटन बोर्डको संयोजक गणेश भट्टराई, पर्यटन व्यवसायी एवं महिला सशिक्तिकरण नेपालका संस्थापक लक्की कार्की, ब्रह्मकुमारी ईश्वरीय बिश्व बिद्यालय एवं राजयोग प्रशिक्षण केन्द्रका ब्रह्मकुमारी मञ्जु लगायत व्यक्तिहरुको आतिथ्यतामा सम्पन्न उद्घाटन समारोहमा जननी एफ एमका स्टेसन म्यानेर बिमला भण्डारी, बाताबरणप्रेमी हेमन्त ढकाल, कान्तिपुरका पश्चिमाञ्चल व्युरो प्रमुख भिम प्रसाद घिमिरे, लायन्स क्लब पोखरा सेन्ट्ररल क्रमश सचिब बिशाल सुबेदी, कोषाध्यक्ष रमेश श्रेष्ठ र सफलता एम.एमका प्रतिनिधि मधु अधिकारी लगायतका व्यक्तिहरुको सहभागीतामा सम्पन्न भएका थियो साथै आमा समूह र एम.आर.आरका युवा साथीहीको समेत उल्लेखनिय सहभगीता रहेको थियो ।

कार्यक्रममा प्रमुख अतिथि पोखरा उपमहनगरपालिकाका निमित्त कार्यकारी प्रमुख ओमराज पौडेलले यस्तो महान अभियानमा पोखरा उपमहनगरपालिका सहयोग गर्न सधैब तत्पर रहेको र भबिष्यमा जुन सुकै सहयोग आबश्यक परेमा उपमहानगरपालिकाले गर्ने प्रतिबद्धता समेत जनाउनु भएको थियो ।

कार्यक्रममा ब्रह्मकुमारी ईश्वरीय बिश्व बिद्यालय एवं राजयोग प्रशिक्षण केन्द्रका ब्रह्मकुमारी मञ्जुले परिबर्तन आफैबाट गर्नु पर्छ र यो सम्भब पनि रहेकोले ब्रह्मकुमारी ईश्वरीय बिश्व बिद्यालय एवं राजयोग प्रशिक्षण केन्द्रबाट हुन सक्ने सहयोग यस अभियानलाई गर्न सदैब तयार रहेको कुरा बताउदै यस अभियानलाई शुभकामना समेत व्यक्त गर्नु भएो थियो ।

पोखरा पर्यटन बोर्डको संयोजक गणेश भट्टराईले पर्यटकीय नगरी पोखरालाई सुन्दर र हराभरा बनाई राख्न संचालन गरको अभियनले सम्बन्धित सरोकारवालाहरु समेतलाई सहभागी गराई स्थानीय व्यक्तिहरुको उल्लेखनिय सहभागीता हुने कार्यक्रम अगाडी लान सके अबश्य पनि यो अभियानले सफलता प्राप्त गर्ने कुरामा जोड दिदै आयोजकहरुलाई बिशोष धन्यबाद समेत व्यक्त गर्नुभएको थियो ।

यस अभियान अभियानमा मात्रै सिमित नभई साच्चै नै समाजमा राम्रो कार्य गरी देखाउनुपर्छ र अनि यो पोखराको मुहारलाई सधैब हराभरा राखिराख्न यस्ता खालको अभियानले निकै नै सार्थक पाउने कुरामा ता पौडेल, पोखरा पर्यटन बोर्डको संयोजक गणेश भट्टराई, पर्यटन व्यवसायी एवं महिला सशिक्तिकरण नेपालका संस्थापक लक्की कार्की र जननी एफ एमका स्टेसन म्यानेर बिमला भण्डारीले बिशेष जोड दिनु भएको थियो ।

शुभकामना मन्तव्य दिने क्रममा बन बिज्ञान अध्ययन संस्थान सहायक डिन जिबननाथ पाण्डे, बन बिज्ञान अध्ययन संस्थानकै क्याम्पस प्रमुख बिर बहादुर खनाल क्षेत्री बाताबरणलाई जोगाई राख्नलाई बेलाबेलामा यस्ता खालको कार्यक्रम संचालन भएमा पोखराको अस्तित्व सधैब कायम रहि रहनेछ र यसका लागि जनचेतना दिने खालको बिबिध कार्यक्रम गरीराख्नु पर्ने कुरामा जोड दिनु भयो ।

औपचारीक कार्यक्रम समापन पश्चात कार्यक्रम सम्पन्न गरेको चोकमा करिब ४० मिनेट लामो सरसफाई कार्यक्रम गरी अभियानलाई बिधिबद रुपमा सुरुवात गरेको थियो उक्त सरसफाई कार्यक्रममा ४० भन्दा बढी पोखरेली युवाहरुकोे सहभागीता रहेको थियो ।

छउपडि न्यूनिकरणमा अनकन सक्रिय

अमेरिका नेपाल कम्यूनिटि आउटरिच नेटवर्क अनकनको आयोजना, राष्ट्रिय युवा परिषद, नेपालको संयोजन, स्थानिय संयोजन रेस नेपाल जुम्ला र जिल्ला बिकास समितिको कार्यलय जुम्लाको सहकार्यमा जुम्लाको सदरमुकाम खलाङ्गा बजार र बोहोरा गाँउमा छउपडि र हाम्रो समाज” भन्ने बिषयमा सडक नाटक र छउपडि र महिला स्वास्थ्य भन्ने बिषयमा अन्र्तक्रिया कार्यक्रम सम्पन्न भयो ।

सुदुरपश्चिमको जिल्लाहरुमा कुरितिको रुपमा रहेको छउपडिलाई न्यूनिकरणको निमित्त यो सडक नाटकको आयोजना गरिएको हो । सडक नाटकमा बिशेषगरी छउपडिलाई धर्मसँग जोडी छउपडि प्रर्था अहिलेसम्म पनि बिद्यामान नै रहेको छ र छउपडि प्रर्था नमाने हाम्रो कुलदेवता रिसाउँछ भन्ने कुराहरुलाई व्यंगात्मक ढङ्गबाट प्रस्तुत गरीएको थियो र यो गलत धारण हो भन्ने सन्देश प्रबाह समेत नाटकबाट प्रदान गरिएको थियो । सुदुरपश्चिमको अधिकांश जिल्लाहरुमा छउपडि एक बिकराल समस्याको रुपमा रहेको छ र यसको न्युनिकरणमा अनकनले अभियान संचालन गरेको हो ।

स अभियान अन्तर्गत जुम्ला जिल्लाको सदरमुकाम खलाङ्गा बजार र बोहोरा गाँउमा स्थानीय व्यक्तिहरु उपस्थितिमा सडक नाटक सम्पन्न भएको हो । नाटकमा बिशेषगरी छउपडि कुप्रर्था हो, यसको न्युनिकरणमा युवाहरु नै सक्रिय हुनुपर्छ र यसको न्यूनिकरण हाम्रै पालोमा सम्भब छ भनी सन्देश प्रबाह गरी सम्पन्न भएको थियो ।

साथै अन्र्तक्रिया कार्यक्रममा जिल्ला बिकास समितिको प्रतिनिधिको प्रमुख आतिथ्यतामा सम्पन्न कार्यक्रममा स्थानीय दलिय प्रतिनिधिहरुको पनि उपस्थतिमा सम्पन्न भएको थियो । उक्त अन्र्तक्रिया कार्यक्रममा क्याड नेपाल र कर्णली बिज्ञान प्रतिष्ठानका तर्फबाट कार्यपत्र पेश भएको थियो र त्यस कार्यपत्र माथि सहभागीहरुले आफ्नो आफ्नो धारण समेत प्रस्तुत गरेका थिए ।

सहभागीहरुले छउपडि प्रर्थाको बारेमा खुलेर आफ्नो धारण प्रस्तुत गरेको थिए । प्राय जसो उपस्थिति भएका महिलाहरुले यो पराम्परागत रिति हो र यसलाई हामी त्यसै भएर स्वीकार गरेका हौ र स्वीकार नगरे हाम्रा कुलदेवता रिसाउँछन भन्ने उनीहरुको धारण रहेको थियो ।

पुराना पुराना मानिसहरुले छुई भएको बेलामा किताब समेत पढ्न दिदैनथे, छुइ भएको बेलामा गाईको दुध खान नहुने, घरको मुल थाम छुन नहुने, भात समेत खान नहुने, छुई भएको बेलामा राम्रो सँग मानेन भने बच्चा समेत नहुने कुराहरु बिश्वास धेरै पहिला रहेछ तर अहिले शिक्षाको कारणले छउपडि प्रर्था समेत धेरै मात्रामा न्यूनिकरण भईसकेको छ । यसको लािग स्थानिय बिभिन्न संघ संस्था र सरकारी तवरबाट समेत बिबिध खालको कार्यक्रमहरु संचालन भईसकेको रहेछ ।

छुइको समयमा महिला महिला बिचमा समेत छुन हुन्न भन्ने मान्यता अझै पनि बिकट गाँउहरु बिद्यमान रहेको छ र त्यसको न्यूनिकरणमा धेरै पहलहरु समेत भएको छ तर केही हदसम्म मात्र कम भएको रहेछ ।

अनकन अमेरिकामा रहने नेपालीहरुको सामाजिक सस्था हो र यसले छउपडि प्रर्था मात्र नभई शिक्षाको क्षेत्रमा समेत सहयोग गरिरहेको छ र केही बालबलिकाहरुलाई छात्राबृत्ति समेत प्रदान गरी अनकनले सामाजिक सेवामा आफुलाई प्रमाणित गरिसकेको छ । त्यसैगरि अनकनले चितवनमा हिमालय निम्न माध्यमिक बिद्यालयमा कम्प्युटर ल्याव समेत निर्माण गरी कम्प्युटर शिक्षा प्रदान गर्नमा सहयोग गरेको छ । साथै अनकनले भुकम्प पश्चात लायन्स क्लवको माध्यमबाट सहयोग हस्तान्तरण गरेको थियो र भुकम्पले प्रभाबित जनमैत्री क्यापसलाई भवन निर्माणको लागि सहयोग रकम क्यापसलाई हस्तान्तरण गरी नेपालमा सहयोगको क्रमलाई निरन्तरता दिदै आईरहेको छ ।

साथै महिलाहरुलाई सवल र सक्षम बनाउनको लागि समेत सहयोग गरेको छ र युवाहरुलाई सशक्तिकरणमा समेत सहयोग हात अघि बढाईरहको यस अनकनले नेपाल र नेपालीहरुप्रति देखाएको सदभावलाई जो कोसैले पनि प्रशंसा गर्न लायक छ ।

अमेरिकामा रहँदा पनि नेपाल र नेपालीहरुलाई सहयोग गर्न पाउदाँ ज्यादै खुशि रहेको कुरा यसै प्रोजेक्टका लक्ष्मी ओलीले बताउनुभयो ।

युुवा उत्प्रेरणा कार्यक्रम सम्पन्न

परिवर्तनका लागि युुवा भन्ने मूूल नाराका साथ युुवा उत्प्रेरणा कार्यक्रम नेपालगन्जमा सम्पन्न भएको छ । राष्ट्रिय युुवा परिषद बाँके शाखाको आयोजना तथा राष्ट्रिय युुवा परिषद, नेपालको सहकार्यमा सो कार्यक्रम भएको हो । सो कार्यक्रममा सकारात्मक सोचको विकास, उद्यमशिलता, स्वालम्बीपन, युुवा नेतृत्वादायी विकासका बारेमा प्रमुख अतिथि राष्ट्रिय युुवा परिषद, नेपालका अध्यक्ष सरोज बानियाले युवाहरुलाई सहजीकरण गर्नुु भएको थियो ।

सो कार्यक्रममा स्वागत मन्तब्य राष्ट्रिय युुवा परिषद बाँके शाखाकामहासचिव बामदेव पोख्रेलले गर्नु भएको थियो भने राष्ट्रिय युुवा परिषद बाँके शाखाको अध्यक्ष सोम गुरुङ्गको अध्यक्षतामा सम्पन्न भएको थियो । कार्यक्रमको सन्चालन कार्यक्रम संयोजक दल बहादुुर सुनारले गर्नु भएको थियो । सो कार्यक्रममा ४० जना युुवाहरुको सहभागिता रहेको थियो । सो युुवा उत्प्रेरणा कार्यक्रममा सहभागी जिल्ला बाल क्लब सन्जालका अध्यक्ष श्वेता गुरुङ्ग, साहिल अन्सारी, सुमन केसी र चियर्स क्रियटिभ नेपालका अध्यक्ष सुुरेन्द्र चलाउनेले यस्तो कार्यक्रमले युुवाहरुमा सकारात्मक सोचको विकास हुुने बताएका थिए ।

INTRODUCTION
In short, environment is the relationship between man and his surroundings. Environment may be broadly understood to mean our surroundings. It can be divided into non-living and living components. The environment provides resources which support life on the earth and which also help in the growth of a relationship of interchange between living organisms and the environment in which they live. It is important to realize that humans enjoy a unique position in nature due to their exceptional ability to influence and mould the environment. In the recent past the term nature has been used as parallel to word environment. It has been generally believed that nature is what man has not made. In our discussion environment and nature have been used as synonym, which incorporate most of the visible manifestation of geography. Raymond Williams defines nature as ‘the material world itself, taken as including or not including human beings.’ Tracing the history of the term he suggests that ‘nature’ has meant the ‘countryside’, the unspoiled places’, plants and creatures other than man.’

CURRENT ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUES:
Acid rain, global warming, forest deforestation, decreased agricultural production, early and late flowering and fruiting of forest trees, biodiversity loss, melting of snow and rising sea level, change in general raining pattern are some of the environmental issues that we have been facing in these days. We have been heard the news on pollution and have directly faced its impacts. Among many causal factors the major thing we should have to eliminate is the poor management of wastes. Waste and wastes are unwanted or unusable materials. Waste is any substance which is discarded after primary use, or it is worthless, defective and of no use ie runoff), radioactive wastes, and others. Inappropriately managed waste can attract rodents and insects, which can harbor gastrointestinal parasites, yellow fever, worms, the plague and other conditions for humans, and exposure to hazardous wastes, particularly when they are burnt, can cause various other diseases including cancers. In context of Nepal, inappropriate waste management is the major problem. Managing solid waste is one of the major challenges in urbanization. A survey conducted in all 58 municipalities of Nepal in 2012 found that the average municipal solid waste generation was 317 grams per capita per day. This translates into 1,435 tons per day or 524,000 tons per year of municipal solid waste generation in Nepal, yet it lacks an efficient system to manage that waste. Many of these technically and financially constrained municipalities are still practicing roadside waste pickup from open piles and open dumping, creating major health risks. Renewable energy experts call it a “waste of waste,” as the trash could easily be converted into power and compost.

So many organizations have been involved in waste management projects but either they are limited to some central area or they have not been effective in their job. We can easily observe wastes thrown in open space in almost all roads of Nepal. The scenario is also the result of peoples ignorance in this issue. Hence the problem lies in peoples thinking rather than the policy. Despite public awareness campaigns, there has been little change in household attitudes to managing waste. Residents tend to dispose of their garbage by burning it or throwing it away in any open space. Hence youths can play a very vital role in turning out this scenario. Therefore there is strong need of urgency to take action in creating effective awareness among people in this serious matter. It is a definite truth that best management of roadside wastes alone can help to make Nepal look more beautiful and clean and youths from almost all parts of Nepal can play a tremendous role in this campaign.

Therefore this campaign is proposed here to gather active youth members from different parts of Nepal and form a very good network to initiate waste management campaign from local level. Until and unless local people are involved to solve this serious issue, there can never be the proper management of wastes in the country. This campaign will unite youths of every parts of Nepal to work together for proper waste management. This campaign will start its work from Pokhara with the participation of youth members and will extend its work with the support from stakeholders.

National Youth Council, Nepal (NYC Nepal) is a nonprofit, charitable and youth volunteer organization based in Nepal founded in 2011. It was established as an initiative to develop the social network between volunteers and dynamic youths of Nepal with the objective of empowering backward community. It has been conducting programs in various fields such as National Youth Conference, Personality Development Workshop, Youths for Entrepreneurship Campaign, Leadership Bootcamp, Relief Programs, Earthquake Survivals Support Campaign and others research etc. Some of the major programmes conducted by National Youth Council, Nepal (NYC Nepal) are Educational for All, Computer Literacy Mission, Oreintation Programs for Rural Areas Youths and Youths Empowerment Programs and Training etc. This organization is now trying to work in the field of Waste Management collected at roadside.

OBJECTIVES OF THE CAMPAIGN:

The major objective of this campaign is to create a sense of responsibility among local people towards better solid waste management thrown anywhere in roadside in coordination of youths from almost all districts of Nepal. Specific objectives of this project are:

To inspire youths to involve in the conservation of environment, provide them a source of employment opportunity and create a sense of responsibility among youths towards country’s welfare.
To carryout awareness programs among local people regarding effects of poor solid waste management in coordination with youth members and involve local people in proper solid waste management collected at roadside.

Rationale of The Campaign:
Poor solid waste management along road side is one of the serious issue in present context of Nepal. Throwing of solid wastes anywhere in open space has resulted in increased pollution specially in urban areas with high population. Though many organizations along with municipalities have been trying best from their level, still a very good networking of active members to work for the best solid waste management is lacking in the country. There must be active participation from local level to make a progress in this campaign. Hence this campaign will invite all the active, energetic and passionate youths from all districts to coordinate for the better solid waste management in the country by creating awareness among the local people and involving them as well. This campaign will benefit the country both by creating a source of employment to large group of youths on one hand and removing unnecessary wastes on the other. People will be awared to collect and throw wastes only in tankers placed in roadside and collected wastes in tankers will be burnt safely with the help of incinator device.

METHODOLOGY AND PROPOSED ACTIVITIES:
This campaign aims at creating a youth network residing in different districts of Nepal to work together for better solid waste management in the country and impose a sense of responsibility among the local people towards this issue. Youth network will be established through social networks. A Youth committee will be formed in each district. About thirteen members will be included at initial phase to coordinate in this campaign and their number will be extended according to the necessity. Programs and schedule of the campaign for each district will be made in coordination with the members of respective districts. Youths involved in the campaign will be given salary facility to increase their interest towards the campaign. This campaign will first start its work from Pokhara and extend its work with the support from the stakeholders.

PROPOSED ACTIVITIES:

SANITATION PROGRAM:
We propose to conduct weekly sanitation programs in main roads of almost all districts with the aim of making roads neat, clean and plastic free removing all the garbage from roadside premises in the participation of all the interested youth members belonging to respective districts. Vehicle from the municipality will be taken for the garbage collection and the collected garbage will be burnt safely with help of incinator devices. Management of incinator devices will be made for each districts and their number will be maintained according to the demand and necessity. Local people will also be made aware about the effects of poor solid waste management and they will also be involved in the campaign.

DUSTBIN DEMONSTRATION AND PLACEMENT:
Different types of dustbins (Plastic, Glass and Decay able) and compost bins of various sizes will be placed in roadside in distance of certain interval in almost all districts of Nepal. Dustbins will also be placed in local buses, tourist buses. Youth network will play a vital role for this purpose.

ENVIRONMENT FRIENDLY BAG DEMONSTRATION AND DISTRIBUTION:
Environment friendly bag will be demonstrated among the youths, local people with the view of using less plastic by using the eco friendly bag and disseminate the knowledge about the negative impacts of plastic. Environment friendly bags will be made with some message of the campaign.

HOARDING BOARD AND PUBLIC NOTICE:
For the public awareness and new message to the local people Hoarding board will be placed in almost all main roads at certain interval of distance at different districts. Notice paper will also be placed in local buses, tourist buses, private vehicles to aware the people.

ORIENTATION CLASS TO LOCAL PEOPLE:
A short orientation class on campaign update and sanitation will be given to local people. Eco-friendly bag and flyers will also be distributed to local people.

EXPECTED OUTCOME:
This campaign is believed to act as a strong tool to motivate young, energetic and passionate youths to work for environment conservation and involve local people in this sensitive issue. This campaign will unite youths of almost all districts of Nepal and provide a wonderful source of employment opportunity which will help to solve the growing unemployment problem of the county to some extent. This campaign will also activate local people to contribute for the better solid waste management collected at roadside. Hence this campaign will definitely lead to a beautiful and clean Nepal.

विद्यार्थीहरुलाई मानवबेचविखन न्युनीकरण सम्बन्धि अभिमुखीकरण कार्यक्रम

“लैङ्गिक समानताका लागि पाइला हाराहारी, सन २०३० सम्म हिस्सा बराबरी” संविधानलाई ब्यवहारमा उतारौ. महिला अधिकार सुनिश्चित गरौं भन्न्ने नाराको साथ मनाउन लागेको १०६ औं अन्तरराष्ट्रिय महिला दिवशको अवशरमा राष्ट्रिय युवा परिषद, बाँके शाखा र साना हातहरु नेपाल, बाँकेको संयुक्त आयोजनामा आज विभिन्न ९ जिल्लाहरु बाँके, बर्दिया, दागं, सल्यान, जाजरकोट, हुम्ला, रुकुम, दैलेख र बाजुराबाट अध्धयन गर्न आएका अगुवापन तालिम केन्द, कोहलपुरका विधार्थी युवाहरुलाई मानव बेचविखन न्युनीकरण सम्बन्धि एक दिने अभिमुखीकरण तालीम सम्पन्न भएको छ ।

सो अभिमुखीकरणमा अगुवापन तालिम केन्द, कोहलपुरका २५ जना विधार्थीहरुको सहभागिता रहेको थियो । अगुवापन तालिम केन्द, कोहलपुरका प्रिन्सीपल राम थापाले तालिम केन्द्रमा गरिने अतिरिक्त कृयाकलापमा पनि मानव बेचविखन विरुद्ध सम्बन्धि सचेतना कसरी पैmलाउने र यो विषयलाई पनि कसरी समावेश गरेर अगाडि बढ्न सकिन्छ भनेर आयोजना गरिएको बताउनु भयो ।

यस कार्यक्रमलाई अझ प्रभावकारी बनाउने निरन्तर यस्ता अभिमुखीकरण सन्चालन गर्ने प्रतिवद्धता ब्यक्त गर्नु भयो । त्यसै गरी साना हातहरु नेपाल बाँकेका स्टेशन म्यानेजर अम्बिका पुनले तालिम केन्द्रमा हुने अतिरिक्त कृयाकलापमा पनि मानव बेचविखन सम्बन्धि विषयलाई संगै जोडर अगाडि जाने र तालिम केन्द्रमा विभिन्न जिल्लाबाट अध्ध्यन गर्न आउनु भएकोले धेरै ठाउँमा सन्देश फैलिने हुनाले यस तालिम केन्द्रमा सचेतनामुलक कृयाकलाप गर्नु पर्ने आवश्यक्ता रहेको बताउनु भयो ।

राष्ट्रिय युवा परिषद, बाँके शाखाका अध्यक्ष सोम गुरुङ्गले मानवबेचविखन न्युनीकरणको लागि बार्षिक कार्ययोजना बनाएर समुदाय तहमा नियमित रुपमा अतिरिक्त कार्यक्रमहरुमा सचेतना जगाउनु पर्ने र स्थानीय अभिभावकसंग सहकार्य तथा समन्वय गर्ने वातावरणको सृजना गर्नु पर्ने आवश्यक्ता रहेको बताउनु भयो । सो तालिमको अभिमुखीकरणमा मानव बेचविखन तथा मानव ओसारपसार भनेको के हो ?, मानव ओसारपसार नियन्त्रण ऐन २०६४ मा भएका व्यवस्था, मानव बेचविखन हुनुका कारणहरु, मानव बेचविखन गर्न दलालले प्रयोग गर्ने तौरतरिका, मानव बेचविखनका प्रयोजन, मानव बेचविखन हुन सक्ने स्थानहरु र मानव बेचविखन न्यूनिकरण गर्न युवा तथा समुदायको भुमीकाका विषयमा राष्ट्रिय युवा परिषद, बाँके शाखाका महासचिव बामदेव पोख्रेल र कार्यक्रम संयोजक दल बहादुर सुनारले सहजीकरण गर्नु भएको थियो।

UNCON In JUMLA, Nepal

USA-Nepal Community Outreach Network (UNCON) has initiated a project with an objective to minimize the Chhoupadi Pratha (a tradition where young girls are forced to stay out of their home, normally in a shed or cattle-house where no minimal facilities are available, during their monthly menstruating period) in the very remote Karnali region of Western Nepal. UNCON has partnered with the following not-for-profit organizations to successfully execute this project:

• Peace for Development (PFD), Texas, USA
• Lions Club International District 325-A2, Nepal
• National Youth Council, Nepal
• Two other organizations are in progress.

This project is developed in a fashion that local performing artists will perform stage and/or street drama that will deliver the message that menstruating period is a natural health cycle for any girls/women, thus, innocent girls should not be forced out from their own house during the menstrual period. The drama will be staged in several locations including streets, schools/community centers, and/or other potential areas in Jumla of far western Nepal in late April of 2016 and onward. Also, slogans or short messages will be aired by local FM stations that will help to discourage the Chhoupadi Pratha. UNCON will provide monetary rewards to the parents who allow their girls to stay in their home during their monthly menstruating period. UNCON will also prepare a 20 to 30 minutes professional documentary with English subtitles with a goal to bring the issue in wider spectrum.

Laxmi Oli Panta of UNCON and Gyanu Chaulagain of NYC Jumla Chapter will coordinate this project with the support of the project team members from USA and Nepal. Thala Raj Panta and Agni Sanjel of UNCON will monitor the project from USA. This is UNCON’s pilot project for the year of 2016.

राष्ट्रिय युवा परिषद, नेपाल काभ्रे शाखाद्घारा काभ्रे को बल्थलीमा हिजो भुकम्पपिडित सर्वसाधारणहरुलाई १०० थान ब्लानकेट बितरण सपन्न ग¥यो ।

बैशाख १२ को बिनाशकारी भुकम्पले नेपालको १४ जिल्ला पूर्ण रुपमा क्षति एवं बढि प्रभाबित भएको जिल्लाको रुपमा चिनिन्छ । त्यही मध्ये काभ्रे जिल्लाको बल्थलीमा राष्ट्रिय युवा परिषद, नेपालको काभ्रे शाखा द्घारा भुकम्प पडित व्यक्तिहरुलाई ब्लानकेट बितरण गरेको हो । उक्त सहयोगको क्रममा युथ थिंन्कर सोसाईटीले १०० थान ब्लानकेट उपल्बध गराएको कुरा काभ्रे शाखाको अध्यक्ष सुरज न्यौपानेले बताउनु भयो ।

बिगत लामे समय देखि नै राष्ट्रिय युवा परिषद, नेपाल समाज सेवामा सक्रिय संस्थाको रुपमा काम गर्दे आईरहेको नेपाली युवाहरुको सामाजिक, स्वमसेवी, नाफारहित र गैरराजनैतिक संस्था हो । यस संस्थाबाट भुकम्प पछि बिभिन्न जिल्लाहरुमा खाद्यान्न, त्रिपालहरु र ब्लानकेट पनि बितरण गरेको थियो र भुकम्प पिडित करिव १५०० भन्दा बढी बिद्याथीहरुको लागि १ बर्ष सम्म पुग्ने शैक्षिक सामाग्री बितरण गरी बिद्यार्थीहरुको शैक्षिक स्तर उकास्न समेत सहयोग गरेको थियो ।

Youths are the integral resources for the revolutionary change of any nation. It is obvious that for every positive changes of the country, youths of the nation play deciding roles and to bring that undeniably effective force into the mainstream of nation changing campaigns is always challenging. However, it is a necessity. To execute the positive thoughts into nation developing activities and to unite the youth force for their skill contribution in their motherland is the present challenge that looms in the context of Nepal. Having said that with the target of bringing two potential future leaders at a single platform, who can direct the upcoming generation of their districts for the overall growth of the country, bringing the positive changes within them through the trainings focused on Entrepreneurship development & Personality Development, we propose “National Youth Conference 2016”.

PROGRAM TARGET

Youths are the torch-bearer of the change and to justify this, we urge every youth of Nepal walking with positive thoughts to become the part of nation changing campaign. The program is motivated by the motto “Youths on Global Leadership”.

PROGRAM OBJECTIVES

Good personality breeds confidence. Our aim is to bring the positive changes in youths by developing their personalities. Our objective is to let youths know about the importance of personality development.
Our objective is to encourage youths for entrepreneurship so that they could create opportunities of employment to fellow youths while they grow individually in social & financial aspects.
We would also convey the message Youths on Global Leadership and encourage Nepalese youths to come into leadership positions of the country.

OUTCOMES OF THE PROGRAM

PROCEDURE OF SELECTING THE CANDIDATES
Presently, National Youth Council has organizational branches in 40 districts of the country. National Youth Conference 2015 had 138 participants from 68 districts of the country. For the National Youth Conference 2016, the new participants from those 68 districts shall take part. Plus, we shall promote in remaining 7 districts of the country so that participants of all districts of Nepal would be the part of the program.

PARTICIPANTS SHALL MEET THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA TO BE THE PART OF THE PROJECT:

Participant shall be above 18 years and below 30 years old.
Each district shall have two participants, of which one must be female.
The participant shall be involved in social activities in his home district and he shall be involved in any sort of entrepreneurship.
Participant shall not be associated to any political party.
In the case many applicant apply for the program from a single district and they meet all the criteria, the opportunity shall be provided to the first applicant.
The participant shall produce at least three evidences; he/she has conducted for the social transformation.
The participant shall submit properly filled application until 2016, Feb 3 to National Youth Council via email or to our mailing address.
In case female participant from a district does not turn up, the opportunity shall be provided to male participant.
Participant shall submit NRS 500 as the participating fee.

TEACHING METHOD
The expert mentors from the related sectors shall provide theoretical and practical education in the modern that includes audio, video and tactical approaches of teaching. At regular intervals participants shall be asked questions to understand their psychology and the standpoint on the particular topic.

BENEFICIARIES
Direct : The direct beneficiaries of National Youth Conference are the 150 participants from 75 districts. That means two participants from each district of Nepal shall be the direct beneficiaries from the Program.

Indirect : The promoters, media houses and the event attendees along with the families who inherit the knowledge from the direct beneficiaries in the long run are the indirect beneficiaries from the program.

काठमाण्डौ । कार्तिक २२ गतेका दिन नेपाल युवा परिषद र होमस्टे महासंघ नेपाल बिच समझदारी पत्रमा हस्ताक्षर सम्पन्न भयो । उक्त समझदारी पत्र नेपाल युवा परिषदको तर्फबाट महासचिव रचना खरेल र होमस्टे महासंघ नेपालको तर्फबाट सचिव गंगादेवी हायजुले सम्झौता पत्र आदनप्रदान गरेको थियो ।

७ बुदाँमा तयार पारेको समझदारी पत्रमा दुवै संस्था एक्येबद्ध भई युवाहरुलाई होमस्टे व्यवसायमा कसरी आर्कर्षित गर्न सकिन्छ, युवाहरु माझ होमस्टे कसरी प्रचारप्रसार गर्ने, स्थानीय तथा रैथाने खानेकुराहरुको संरक्षण, प्रबद्र्धनमा युवाहरुको सहभागीतालाई अझ बढाएर लैजाने जस्ता कुराहरु समावेश गरिएको छ । एकतिर दैनिक हजारौंको संख्यामा युवाहरु नेपालमा अवसरहरु नदेखेर बैदेशकि भुमिमा जानु अर्कातिर नेपालमा प्रचुर सम्भावना बोकेको होमस्टेलाई नेपाली युवाहरुले नदेखि रहेको अवस्थामा नेपाल युवा परिषद र होमस्टे महासंघ नेपाल बिच समझदारी पत्रमा हस्ताक्षर भएको हो ।

६७ जिल्लामा फैलिएको होमस्टे महासंघ नेपाल र ७७ वटै जिल्लामा फैलिएको नेपाल युवा परिषदले पर्यटन, त्यसमाथि पनि आन्तरिक पर्यटनलाई प्रमुख प्राथमिकतामा राखि आगामी दिनहरुमा थप रचनात्मक कार्य गर्ने कुरा समेत उल्लेख गरिएको छ । बिशेषत परम्परागत ज्ञान र सिपमा आधारित कला संस्कृति तथा प्रविधिहरुको खोज तथा अनुशन्धान गरी अभिलेखिकरण राख्ने सम्मको कार्य दुबै संस्था मिलि गर्ने भनि उल्लेख गरिएको कुरा नेपाल युवा परिषदका महासचिव रचना खरेलले बताउनुभयो । त्यसैगरी महासचिव खरेलले यो निकै खुशिको दिन हो यसले युवाहरुमा थप नयाँ ज्ञान तथा सीप हस्तान्तरण हुने र आन्तरीक पर्यटन समेत नयाँ तवरबाट प्रचारप्रसार हुने कुरा व्यक्त गर्नु भयो । महासंघका बरिष्ठ उपाध्यक्ष बाबुराजा महर्जनले यो समझदारीले कुनै एउटा कार्यक्रमको लागि मात्र भन्दा पनि ५ बर्ष सम्म दिगो रणनितिका कार्यहरु समेत गर्ने गरी दुबै संस्था एक साझा मंचमा उभिएको हो त्यसैले हामीले आगामी दिनहरुमा अझै राम्राराम्रा कार्यक्रमहरु ल्याउने समेत बताउनुभयो ।

महासंघका सल्लाहाकार एवं रैथाने एग्रि प्रडक्ट्सका अध्यक्ष तिलक ढकालले दुबै संस्था बिच स्थानीय स्तरमा रहेको रैथाने खाना तथा परिकारहरुलाई संरक्षण एवं संबद्र्धन गर्ने गरी समझदारी हुनुले नेपालको रैथाने खाने कुराहरुको संरक्षण तथा प्रबद्र्धन नयाँ कोशोढुङ्गा सावित हुने कुरा राख्नु भएको थियो । साथै यो संम्झौता पत्रमा ३ वटै तहका सरकारहरुसँग नेपाली युवाहरुको क्षमता तथा दक्षता विकास र उद्यमशीलता विकासका लागि संयुक्त स्पमा पहल गर्ने जस्ता कुराहरु समेत उल्लेख गरिएको छ ।

असोज २५ देखि २७ सम्म चितवनको माडीमा होमस्टे महासंघ नेपालको चौथो राष्ट्रिय महाधिबेशनबाट पारित घोषणापत्रमा समेत होमस्टे मार्फत रैथाने कृषि, कला सिप, प्रविधि, उद्यमशीलता विकास, युवा, महिला र विपन्न वर्ग लगायत सबैलाई संलग्न गराउदै गाँउगाँउमा रोजगार सृजना गर्न पहल गर्ने जस्ता १२ बुदाँहरु सम्मेलित माडी घोषणा पत्र घोषणा गरेको थियो ।

नेपाल युवा परिषद राष्ट्रिय स्तरको गैरसरकारी युवाहरुको क्षेत्रमा काम गर्ने अग्रिणी युवा संस्था हो । यसले राष्ट्रिय स्तरमा राष्ट्रिय युवा सम्मेलन र प्रदेश स्तरमा प्रदेश युवा सम्मेलन गरी बिभिन्न कार्ययोजनाहरु निर्माण गरी संघिय सरकार, प्रदेश सरकार र स्थानिय सरकारलाई बुझाउनुको साथै युवाहरुको उत्कृष्ट कार्ययोजनालाई सिड फण्ड समेत दिने गरेको कुरा नेपाल युवा परिषदको केन्द्रिय सदस्य आयुष न्यौपानेले बताउनुभयो ।

महासंघका सल्लाहाकार एवं पर्यटन वोर्डको पूर्व वोर्ड सदस्य कृष्ण कुमार अर्यालले समेत यो सम्झौताले आगामी दिनहरुमा पर्यटन तथा रैथाने खाना संरक्षणमा निकै ठुलो काम गर्नेछ र युवाहरुलाई परिचालन गरी प्रचारप्रसार समेत हुने कुरामा जोड दिनु भएको थियो ।

नेपाल युवा परिषदले तिहार छठ पर्व पछि सात वटै प्रदेशहरुमा प्रदेश युवा सम्मेलन आयोजना गर्न लागेको छ र यस सम्मेलनमा होमस्टे महासंघको सयुक्त एक्यबद्धता रहेको छ जहाँ हरेक प्रदेशमा २२० जना युवाहरुको सहभागीता रहनेछ ।

राजधानीमा प्रस्तावित रैथाने शिल्पकला तथा संस्कृति विश्वबिद्यालय अवधारणा तथा पुस्तक बिमोचन कार्यक्रममा माननीय संस्कृति, पर्यटन तथा नागरिक उडड्यन मन्त्री माननीय सुशिला सिर्पाली ठकुरी ज्यूको उपस्थितिमा दुई संस्था बिच सहमती पत्रमा हस्ताक्षर सम्पन्न भएको हो । सहमती पत्रमा हस्ताक्षर नेपाल युवा परिषदका केन्द्रीय अध्यक्ष सरोज बानियाँ र रैथाने एग्री प्रडक्टस् नेपाल प्रा.लि.का अध्यक्ष तिलक ढकालले गर्नुभएको थियो ।

उक्त कार्यक्रममा बिभिन्न मन्त्रालयका पूर्व सचिव ज्यूहरुको पनि उपस्थिति रहेको थियो भने प्रस्तावित रैथाने शिल्पकला तथा संस्कृति विश्वबिद्यालयको अवधारणा प्रस्तुतकरण नेपाल सरकारका पूर्व सचिव एवं प्रस्तावित रैथाने शिल्पकला तथा संस्कृति विश्वबिद्यालय संयोजक डा. मान बहादुर बिकेले गर्नुभएको थियो ।

सहमती पत्रमा हस्ताक्षर नेपाल युवा परिषद र रैथाने एग्री प्रडक्टस् नेपाल प्रा.लि. बिचमा आगामी दिनहरुमा दुबै पक्षको हित, विकास र प्रबद्र्धनका लागि आफ्ना आफ्ना ज्ञान, शिप र क्षमता आदानप्रदान गर्ने, उद्धेश्य मिल्ने कार्यक्रमहरु कार्यन्वयन गर्दा आपसी सहमतिमा दुबै पक्षको लोगो तथा ब्रान्डीङ प्रयोग गर्ने, रैथाने ज्ञान, सिपहरुको प्रवर्धन, रैथाने कृषि बालीहरुको बजारीकरण र उपयोगका साथै कृषि र खाना पर्यटन प्रर्वधनमा संयुक्त रुपमा वकालत गर्ने, परम्परागत ज्ञान र सिपमा आधारित कला संस्कृति तथा प्रविधिहरुको खोज तथा अनुशन्धान गरी अभिलेखिकरण गर्ने र नेपाली युवाहरुको दक्षता तथा क्षमता बिकास, उद्यमशिलता बिकासका लागी तिनै तहका सरकारसंग सहकार्य गर्न संयुक्त र सयुक्त पहल गर्ने गरी ५ बुदाँमा हस्ताक्षर सम्पन्न भएको हो ।

नेपालका ६२ प्रतिशत भन्दा बढी जनसंख्या कृषि पेशामा आधारित छन् । कृषिले कूल राष्ट्रिय उत्पादनको करिब २७ प्रतिशत हिस्सा ओगटेको छ । कृषि जैविक विविधता खाद्य तथा पोषण सुरक्षा, वातावरण तथा स्वस्थ जीवन, गरिब तथा सीमान्तकृत समुदायको जीविकोपार्जनको प्रमुख आधार हो ।

नेपाल जैविक सम्पदामा सम्पन्न मानिन्छ तर पछिल्लो समय जलवायु परिवर्तन, वन विनास, आधुनिक खेती प्रणालीका कतिपय नकारात्मक प्रभावहरुका कारण समग्र जैविक विविधता अझ बिशेष गरी कृषि जैविक विविधतामा प्रतिकूल असर परेको छ । माटोको उर्वरा शक्तिमा ह्रास आएको छ । वातावरण तथा मानव स्वास्थ्यमा नकारात्मक असर परेको छ । त्यसै गरी हाम्रा कैयन सामाजिक, धार्मिक तथा साँस्कृतिक परम्परा एवं अवसरहरुमा पस्किने पन्च गुणीय तत्वले भरिपूर्ण मौलिक खाना तथा विविध परिकारहरु क्रमिक रुपमा हराउँदै गईरहेका छन् । हजारौ नेपाली युवाहरु रोजगारको खोजिमा बिदेशमा जानु पर्ने अवस्था रहेको छ ।

ह्रासोन्मुख हुँदै गएको रैथाने कृषि प्रणाली (वाली, घाँसे बाली, पशुपन्क्षि, कृषि किरा, कृषि शुक्ष्मजीवाणु, र जलीय कृषि) को लागि कृषि जैविक विविधता संरक्षण र प्रवर्धनमा ध्यान पु्र्याउन नसकिएमा कृषि पारिस्थितिकीय प्रणालीमा नै नकारात्मक असर पर्न गइ समग्र खाद्य एवं कृषि प्रणाली नै जोखिममा पर्न सक्ने देखिन्छ यसै कुरालाई मध्यनजर गर्दै दुई संस्था बिच सहमती पत्रमा हस्ताक्षर भएको हो ।

नेपालको कुल जनसंख्याको ४३.५६ प्रतिशत हिस्सा ओगटेको युवा जमातलाई बिभिन्न तह र तप्कामा नेतृत्वदायी भुमिकामा ल्याउने उदेश्यका साथ युवा उद्यमशीलता, जलवायु परिवर्तन, युवा नेतृत्व, दिगो विकास लक्ष्य प्राप्ती, सुशासन, आन्तरिक पर्यटन तथा स्थानीय कलासंस्कृति र परिकारहरुको संरक्षण एवं सम्बर्धन, महिला सशक्तिकरण जस्ता बिषयगत कार्यक्रमहरु आयोजना गरी युवाहरुलाई उत्प्रेरण जगाउने उदेश्यका साथ युवाहरुद्धारा नै नेतृत्व गरेको ७ प्रदेश र ७७ जिल्लामा स्थापित एक मात्र युवा संस्था हो नेपाल युवा परिषद हो भने रैथाने एग्री प्रडक्टस् नेपाल प्रा.लि भनेको रैथाने कृषि उपज तथा बस्तुहरु र मौलिक ज्ञान, सिपमा आधारित हस्तकलाहरुको संरक्षण, उत्पादन, प्रर्बद्धन, विस्तार र बजारीकरण गर्ने उद्देश्यले बहु आयामिक क्षेत्रमा क्रियाशिल विज्ञहरुको संलग्नतामा मिति २०७६ साल श्रावन २३ मा कम्पनी रजिष्ट्रारको कार्यालयमा दर्ता भई काम गर्दै आइरहेको छ । यस कम्पनिमा ७ वटै प्रदेशका ४९ जना शेयर सदस्यहरु रहेका छन् । कम्पनीले रैथाने कृषि उपजहरुको संरक्षण, प्रवद्र्धन तथा बजारीकरणका लागि कृषि समूह तथा अन्य सरोकारवाला संघ संस्थाहरुसंगको समन्वय र साझेदारीमा किसानहरुलाई ज्ञान, सीप र प्रविधि प्रदान गरी उत्पादनको उचित मूल्य उपलब्ध गराउने तथा उपभोक्तालाई सहज र सुलभ मूल्यमा गुणस्तरयुक्त कृषि उपज उपलब्ध गराउने रणनीति लिएको छ भने उत्पादक र उपभोक्ताबीच पुलको काम गरी दुबै पक्षलाई हित हुने र दुबै पक्षको जित हुने कार्य गर्दै आइरहेको छ । यस कम्पनिले हाल ७ वटै प्रदेश अन्र्तगत ५० जिल्लाका कृषि सहकारी, किसान समूहहरुसंग रैथाने कृषि उपजहरुको गुणस्तर उत्पादनका लागि सम्झौता गरी हाल ९ हजार भन्दा बढी किसानहरुबाट उत्पादित २५० भन्दा बढी प्रकारका रैथाने कृषि उपज तथा हस्तकलाका सामग्रीहरु संकलन, प्रवद्र्धन तथा प्रशोधन गरी बिक्री वितरण गर्दै आइरहेको छ ।

नेपाल युवा परिषदले ७ प्रदेशमा आयोजना गर्न लागेको प्रदेश युवा सम्मेलन २०२३ मा र रैथाने एग्री प्रडक्टस् नेपाल प्रा.लि.ले पनि सहकार्य गर्ने भएको छ ।

तयारी राष्ट्रिय युवा सम्मेलन २०१९

बिज्ञान सुवेदी: हरेक परिवर्तनकारी कदमको लागी अनि सोचको लागि नयाँ ठाउँ, नयाँ बातावरण अनी नयाँ परिवेशले बिशेष उर्जा अनि हौसला प्रदान गर्दछ, नेपाल युवा परिषदको लागि यो शुक्रबार अनी शनिवार केही बिशेष रह्यो, यही १०– १२ अगष्ट सम्म आयोजना हुन गैरहेको राष्ट्रिय युवा सम्मेलन २०१९ को रणनितिक योजना एवम् तयारी बिशेष छलफल गरिरहँदा काठमाडौँको कोलाहल भन्दा केही पर रहेको नुवाकोट स्थित ककनी गाउँपालिका को सुन्दर वाताबरणमा हरेक युवाका सोच अनि योजनाहरु बुलन्द बनेर निस्किए ।

शुक्रबार करिब तिन बजे बालाजुबाट ककनीको लागि प्रस्थान गरेको १७ जना युवाको टोली करिब साँढे दुई घण्टाको यात्रा पश्चात् ककनी स्थित होटेल ककनी इन पुगेको थियो । केही समयको आराम पश्चात् ककनीका केही रमणिय स्थानको घुमाई अत्यन्तै रमाइलो रह्यो । साँझ करिब दुई घण्टासम्म चलेको राष्ट्रिय युवा सम्मेलनको योजना सम्बन्धी बसेको बैठक बिशेष फलदायी रह्यो । परिषदका केन्द्रीय अध्यक्ष सरोज बानियाँले आफ्नो योजना, विगतका सम्मेलनहरुमा महशुस गरेको कमीकमजोरी लगायत सबै सदस्यहरुले आफ्नो बिचार प्रस्तुत गरेका थिए ।

छलफलको अन्त्यमा उक्त कार्यक्रमका बिशेष आकर्षण नेपाल युवा परिषदका आत्मीय शुभचिन्तक एवम् मेरो जब डटकमका मार्केटिङ्ग म्यानेजर राजन कोइरालाले दिनु भएको सन्देश सबैको लागि प्रेरणा बन्यो । लोकल भाले सहितको मीठो खाना पश्चात् भएको सांस्कृतिक कार्यक्रम अविष्मरणीय रह्यो । करिब ११ बजे सम्म चलेको नाचगानमा सबै साथीहरु खुलेर कम्मर नाचेका थिए । क्याम्प फायर सहित चलेको उक्त नाचगानलाई ककनीको मुटु छुने चिसोले कुनै प्रभाव पारेन ।

कार्यक्रम को दोस्रो तथा अन्तिम दिन बिहानको सुर्योदय संग सुरु भएको करिब एक घण्टाको पैदल यात्रा शिवपुरी राष्ट्रिय निकुन्जको ककनी इन्ट्री पोइन्ट सम्म लम्कियो । खुट्टाको थकानलाई बेवास्ता गर्दै सबैको आँखा अगाडि फैलिएको हिमश्रृंखला हेर्न मग्न थिए । खुल्ला मैदानमा राजन कोइरालाले दिनुभएको टिम बिल्डिङ्ग« सम्बन्धि ज्ञान निकै सार्थक रह्यो । व्यक्तिगत एवम् सामाजिक सेवालाई कसरी अगाडि बढाउन सकिन्छ भन्ने बारे उहाँले दिनुभएको ज्ञान सबैको लागि प्रेरक थियो । साथै उहाँले गराउनु भएका सामुहिक खेलहरुले टिममा एक अर्का बिचको सहकार्य र स्रोतहरुको उचित प्रयोग कसरी गर्ने भन्ने बारे ज्ञान मिलेको थियो । दोस्रो दिन व्यक्तिगत एवम् संस्थगत हिसाबले सबै जनाको लागि निकै महत्वपुर्ण रह्यो । सम्मेलनमा सहकार्य गर्न सक्ने सम्भावित संस्थाहरु बारे जानकारी कुनैपनि सम्भावित संस्था को पहिचान गरी उनीहरुसंग प्रस्ताव कसरी गर्ने, प्रस्ताव गर्दा आउन सक्ने सम्भावित आरोह अबरोह के के हुन सक्छन् र कुन अबस्थामा कसरी त्यसको रणनितिक सामना गर्ने लगायत बिबिध आधारभुत ज्ञानले सबैलाई सम्मेलनलाई अझ भव्य अनि सभ्य बनाउन पर्छ भन्नेमा उत्प्रेरित गरेको थियो ।

रमाइलो संगै ज्ञान गुनको अनि ककनी को बिशेष खानाले सबैको दिमाग, मन अनि पेट भरिपुर्ण पारिरहेको थियो । सहभागी साथीहरुलाई परिषदसंग अझ नजिक बनाउन अध्यक्ष सरोज बानियाँले परिषद सम्बन्धि सोध्नुभएका केही रोचक अनि ज्ञानबद्र्धक प्रश्नहरुले माहोल अझ रोमान्चक बनेको थियो । साथीहरुले प्रस्तुत गरेको आमा सम्बन्धि लेखले माहोलाई बेला बेला केही भावुक बनाएको थियो । उक्त बसाईमा अध्यक्ष सरोज बानियाँ ज्युले सम्मेलनका स्वयमसेबहरुलाई कसरी परिचालन गर्ने, बिभिन्न जिल्लालाई दिइने भनिएको सिड मनी कसरी प्रयोग गर्न सकिन्छ र सम्मेलनमा आयेजक समितिमा बसेर काम गरिरहेका युवा साथीहरुको भुमिका कति सम्म महत्वपुर्ण रहन्छ भन्नेमा प्रष्ट पार्नु भएको थियो । कतिबेला मुटु काम्प्ने चिसो त कतिबेला टाउको पोल्ने गर्मि तर पनि सबै कुरालाई बेवास्ता गर्दै एकटक भएर आफ्नो बिचार योजनालाई प्रस्तुत गरिरहेको आवाजहरुबाट प्रष्ट हुन्थ्यो की यो पटक को सम्मेलन निकै सभ्य अनि भव्य हुने वाला छ । दुईदिनको रमाइलो छलफल, ज्ञान अनि माहोलबाट नयाँ जोश, उमंग र हौसला बोकेर सम्मेलनको आयोजनाको जिम्मा पाएको युवा टोली करिब ४ बजे काठमाडौँको लागि प्रस्थान गर्दै थियो । बाटोमा भएको प्राकृतिक सुन्दरता, यातायात समस्या, ग्रामिण नेपालको सडक अबस्था आदिले यात्रा त रमाइलो बनाएको नै थियो तर सबै युवा भित्र एउटा कुराले जरा गाडिसकेको थियो कि देशमा सम्भावना धेरै छन् गर्नुपर्ने काम पनि धेरै छन् र ति सबै आशाहरु हामी युवाकै बाटो हेरेर बसिरहेका छन् ।

हावाहुरी पीडितलाई राहत वितरण

चैत १७ गते बारा जिल्लामा भएको हुरीबतासको क्षतिका कारण ज्यान गुमाउने तथा घाईतेहरुको परिवारका लागि नागरिक समूहले राहत वितरण गरेको छ ।

भिषण हुरीका कारण भएको धन जनको क्षतिका कारण परिवार गुमाउने तथा घाईते परिवारको राहतका लागि विभिन्न संघसंस्थाहरुसँग समन्वय गरि अति प्रभावित क्षेत्र बारा जिल्ला फेटा गाउँपालिका वडा नं. १ भलुहीमा पुगी विभिन्न सामग्री हस्तान्तरण गरेको हो ।

नेपाल यूवा परिषद, नागरिक समूह नेपाल, यूवा कृषि मञ्च, नेपाल ईको फ्रेण्ड्ली लियो क्लब र रोटरी क्लब अफ मातृभूमी बालुवाटारले संयुक्त रुपमा सोलार तथा पावर चार्जिङ लाइट, झुल, ब्ल्याङकेट, तन्ना नुहाउने साबुन, कपडा धुने साबुन, सरफ, टुथ्पेष्ट, दाँत माझ्ने ब्रस, बाल्टिन, मग, चक्कु, पानी, म्याट लगायतका सामग्री वितरण गरेको हो ।

राहत फेटा गाउँपालिका वडा नं. १ का अध्यक्ष जय प्रकाश दासको रोहवरमा स्थानीय पीडितहरुलाई हस्तान्तरण गरेका हुन् ।

राष्ट्रिय युवा सम्मेलन २०१७ भव्यताका साथ सम्पन्न

अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय युवा दिवसको अवसरमा “शान्ति स्थापनाका लागि युवा र दिगो बिकासका लागि युवा” भन्ने नाराको साथ नेपाल युवा परिषदको आयोजनामा आयोजना भएको राष्ट्रिय युवा सम्मेलन भव्यताका साथ सम्पन्न भएको छ ।

नेपालभरिका ७४ जिल्लाबाट युवाहरुलाई राजधानीमा भेला गराएर दिगो बिकास र शान्ति स्थापनाको लागि कसरी युवाहरुलाई परिचालन गर्न सकिन्छ भन्ने बिषयमा बृहत छलफल गरिएको उक्त सम्मेलनको उद्घाटन माननिय वाणिज्यमन्त्री मिन बहादुर विश्वकर्मा ज्युको हातबाट भएको थियो । तिन दिनसम्म चलेको सम्मेलनको उद्घाटन समारोहमा उपस्थित रहेका अतिथीहरुमध्ये युवा तथा खेलकुद मन्त्रालयका सह–सचिव राम प्रसाद थपलियाले युवा र खेलकुदमा लगानि गर्न अति नै आवश्यक रहेको कुरा जानकारी गराएका थिए । उनले नेपाल युवा परिषदले आयोजना गरेको सम्मेलनबाट १५७ नयाँ सोच भएका युवाहरु बाहिर आउने बिश्वास पोखेका थिए । कार्यक्रममा बोल्दै वाणिज्य मन्त्री मिन बहादुर बिश्वकर्मा ज्युले नेपाल प्रचुर सम्भावना रहेको कारणले युवाहरुले आफुले आफुमा बिश्वास गरेर अघि बढ्न आवश्यक रहेका जानकारी गराएका थिए

सम्मेलनका आयोजक संस्थाका अध्यक्ष सरोज बानियाँ ज्युले गौतम बुद्धको देशलाई नेपाली युवाहरुले सिंगारे अझ सुन्दर बन्न सक्ने कुरा व्यक्त गरेका थिए । उनले उद्यमशिलता बिकास गर्ने प्रयत्न ७४ जिल्लाका युवाहरुलाई नेपाल सरकारको सहकार्यमा नृपाली युवाहरुलाई सरकारले आबश्यकीय भुमिका खेल्न आग्रह गर्दै साथै नेपाल युवा परिषद आर्थिक समृद्धि गर्नको निम्ती युवाहरुलाई आग्रह गर्दै उद्घाटन समारोहको अन्त्य गर्नुभयो । यसका साथै नेपाल गरिव देश नभईकन हाम्रो सोचाई गरिब रहेको कुरा बताए । उहाँले गौतम बुद्ध जन्मिएकोे देशमा हामी युवाहरुले आफ्नो सिप र क्षमतालाई नेपालमै उपयोग गरेर देशलाई आर्थिक बिकास तर्फ उन्मुख गर्न अति आवश्यक रहेको कुरा सहभागि माझ बताएका थिए । कार्यक्रममा नागरिक समुहका अध्यक्ष निगम हुमागाई, नासा नेपालका महासचिव गोविन्द भट्टराई, मेरो जबका प्रबन्ध निर्देशक शैलेन्द्र गिरी, युवा अभियन्ता सुजिल खड्का लगायतको सहभागिता रहेको थियो ।

सम्मेलनमा राम प्रसाद थपलिया ज्युले सहभागिहरुलाई युथ भिजन २०२५ बारेमा, युएनडिपीका प्रतिनिधी विसम ज्ञवालीले शान्ति स्थापनामा युवाको भुमिकाको बारेमा जानकारी गराएका थिए । यसका साथै कार्यक्रममा स्थानीय निर्वाचनमा युवाको भुमिका कस्ता रह्यो भन्ने बिषयमा नेकपा एमालेका प्रतिनिधी माननीय सभासद तथा पुर्व उद्योग मन्त्री कर्ण थापा, नेकपा माओवादीका प्रतिनिधी श्री प्रसाद गजेबु र नयाँशक्ति नेपालका आर्थिक बिभाग प्रमुख सुनिल खड्काले सहभागिलाई जानकारी गराएका थिए । कार्यक्रममा डिआईजी सर्वेन्द्र खनाल र मेयर जनरल रमिन्द्र क्षेत्री ज्युले सहभागिमाझ आफुले गरिरहेका कार्यको बारेमा जानकारी गराएका थिए । उनीहरुको उपस्थितीले सहभागिहरुमा नयाँ उर्जा थप्ने कार्य गरेको थियो ।

यसका साथै दिगो बिकासका लक्ष्य प्राप्तीको लागि युवाहरुले कस्तो भुमिका खेल्न सक्छन् भन्ने बिषयमा पनि युएनडिपीका युवा कार्यक्रम अधिकृत बिसम ज्ञवाली ज्युले जानकारी गराएका थिए । मोटिभेसनल स्पीकर रञ्जित आचार्यले सफलताको सुत्रहरु भन्ने सेसन लिएका थिए । कार्यक्रममा पर्यटन व्यवसायी सुमन पाण्डेले पर्यटनमा युवाको भुमिका, मेरो जबका म्यानेजर राजन कोइरालाले करियर विल्डीङ, र बिभिन्न महिला समाजसेवकहरुले सामाजिक कार्यमा युवाहरुको भुमिका कस्तो हुनुपर्छ भन्ने बिषयमा सहभागिहरुलाई जानकारी गराएका थिए ।

कार्यक्रममा सबै सहभागिहरुलाई दिगो बिकासका लक्ष्य प्राप्तीका लागि अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय स्तरमा नै युवाहरुले कसरी योगदान दिन सक्छन्, भन्ने बिषयहरुमा युएनडिपीका कन्ट्री डिरेक्टर रिनोडले जानकारी गराए । उनको सेसनले सहभागिहरुलाई आफुले दिनसक्ने योगदानको बारेमा अझ बढी जानकारी प्राप्त भयो ।

कार्यक्रमको समापन समारोहमा नेपाल युवा परिषदका अध्यक्ष सरोज बानियाँ ज्युले राष्ट्रिय युवा घोषणा पत्र २०१७ पेश गरेका थिए । जस्मा दिगो बिकास लक्ष्य प्राप्तीको सम्भावना बुझेर युवाहरुलाई कसरी परिचालन गर्ने, पर्यटनको सम्भावनाको क्षेत्रमा युवाहरुलाई परिचालन गर्न कार्यक्रम आयोजना गर्ने, साथै युवाले योगदान गर्न सक्ने क्षेत्रहरुको पहिचान गरेर कार्यक्रम गर्ने जस्ता बुँदाहरु समावेश रहेको थियो । कार्यक्रमको समापन समारोहमा पुर्व उद्योगमन्त्री तथा माननीय सभासद कर्ण थापाले नेपाल युवा परिषदले आयोजना गरेको सम्मेलनको प्रंशसा गर्दै यो कार्य सर्हानीय रहेको बताएका थिए ।

यसका साथै पर्यटन बोर्डका सदस्य कृष्ण कुमार अर्यालले कसरी नेपाल युवा परिषद संघर्ष गर्दै यहाँ सम्म आइपुगेको कुरा सहभागिहरुलाई जानकारी गराएका थिए । सहभागीहरुमध्ये एक दिपा न्यौपानेले नेपाल युवा परिषदको आयोजनामा भएको यो सम्मेलनमा आउनु आफ्नो लागि भाग्यको कुरा रहेको बताइन् । उनले यहाँ सिकेको कुराहरु आफ्नो स्थानमा लगेर अन्य युवाहरुलाई सिकाउन सकेमा दिगो बिकास र शान्ति स्थापनामा आफुले योगदान दिन सक्ने कुरा समेत जानकारी गराइन् । समापन समारोहमा नेपाल युवा परिषदले मधेस क्षेत्रमा बाढी पिडित जनताहरुको लागि सहयोग संकलन गरेर अर्को एउटा ठूलो योगदान दिन सफल भएका थिए ।

नेपाल युवा परिषदको आयोजनामा राजधानीमा युवा उद्यमशीलताको सम्भाबना र चुनौती बिषायक १ दिने कार्यशाला छलफल एवं बृहत अन्र्तक्रिया सम्पन्न भयो । कार्यक्रममा अनुसन्धाकर्ता सन्तोष पौडेलले कार्यपत्र प्रस्तुत गरी नेपालमा उद्यमशीलता बिकासको सम्भाबना र चुनौतीका बिषयमा आफ्नो प्रस्तुती गरे पश्चात यस कार्यक्रमको सुरुवात भएको थियो ।

बिभिन्न युवा संघ संस्थाको अध्यक्ष एवं प्रतिनिधिहरुको बिचमा करिब ३ घण्टाको छलफलमा नेपालमा युवा उद्यमशीलतामा के के सम्भाबनाहरु र चुनौतीहरु रहेको छन् भन्ने बिषयमा बृहत छलफल भएको थियो र सहभागी युवा व्यक्तित्वहरुले आफ्नो आफ्नो धारण राखी सम्पन्न कार्यक्रममा करिब ३१ जना युवाहरुको सहभागीता रहेको थियो । आफ्नो मन्तव्यको क्रममा युवा वकालत नेपालका अध्यक्ष नरेन्द्र खतिवडाले तमाम युवाहरु जगिरे संस्कृतिमा तत्लीन छन् र यहाँ सीप तथा श्रमको उचित सम्मान गर्ने परिपाटी समेत कम भएकोले युवा उद्यमशीलताको सम्भाबना प्रचुर छ तर बढ्न सकेको छैन र बिना सीप नेपालबाट करिब ७४ प्रतिशत युवाहरु बिदेश जान्छन् त्यसले गर्दा ज्ञान सीप बिकास तर्फ राज्यस्तरबाट र अन्य सरोकारवाला निकायबाट पनि यर्थाचित निति बनाई कार्य सम्पादन गर्न सकेको खण्डमा युवा उद्यमशीलतामा बिकास हुन सक्छ र हाल दक्ष सीप र ज्ञानको अभावमा अन्र्तराष्ट्रिय क्षेत्रमा नेपाली युवाहरु प्रतिस्पर्धा गर्न सक्दैनन् ।

त्यसैगरी मन्तव्यकै क्रममा आयोनका अध्यक्ष हिमाल महतले केही समय अगाडी नेपाली युवाहरु राजनितिमा बढी क्रियाशिल हुने गरेको पाईन्थ्यो भने अहिले सामाजिक कार्य गर्न तर्फ प्रेरित भईरहको पाईन्छ यो निकै स्रहानिय कुरा हो । साथै प्रबिधिलाई बढी प्रयोग गरी क्रियाशिल रहेका युवाहरुको जमात पनि निकै ठुलो रहेको छ ।

सहभागी युवा अभियान्ता सुधा सुवेदीले नेपाली युवाहरुको सोच्ने शैली लाई परिबर्तन गर्ने खालको कार्ययोजना बनाई राज्यस्तरबाट र सबै सरोकारवाला निकायहरुबाट कार्यन्वयन गर्न सक्ने हो भने पनि युवा उद्यमशीलताको बिकास हुने कुरामा जोड दिनुभएको थियो । कार्यक्रममा बोल्ने क्रममा युवा अभियान्ता एवं गैसस युवा महासंघ नेपालका अध्यक्ष कमल सुवेदीले बिदेशबाट फर्केका व्यक्तिहरुलाई उद्यमशीलता गर्न प्रेरित गर्न सकेको खण्डमा पनि युवा व्यवसायीहरु थप बढ्ने थियो साथै युवाहरु समक्ष जानकारी समेत समयमा नै पुग्न नसक्नु र राज्यबाट केही रकम प्राप्त गरेको खण्डमा उक्त रकमको खासै माया नहुने र त्यसलाई सिध्याउने नाकी साच्चै व्यवसाय गरेर पुँजी बढाउने तर्फ सोच कमी हुनु पनि हो । एकिकृत कार्ययोजना ल्याउनुपर्ने र नेपाली बैंकहरुले खासै व्यवसाय गर्ने व्यक्तिहरुलाई समेत बिश्वास नगर्ने हुनाले थप नयाँ व्यवसायीहरु थप्ने भन्दा पनि भएकालाई समेत धौ धौ परिरहेको छ । साथै युवा अभियान्ता महेन्द्र थापाले ७ ८ जना मिलेर एनजिओ खोल्न तयार हुने तर व्यवसाय गर्न नेपाली युवाहरु तयार हुदैनन् । अहिलेको बिडम्बना गाँउमा युवाहरु नै भेटिदैनन् र राज्यस्तरबाट पनि आर्थिक उपार्जन गर्ने खालको कार्ययोजना समेत नभएकोले यो एउटा कागजी प्रकृयाको रुपममा मात्रै सिमित भएको छ र युवाहरुको सोच्न शैलीलाई समेत थप परिमार्जित गर्न पर्ने अवस्था भईसकेको छ । मन्तव्य राख्ने क्रममा फोर एच नेपालका अध्यक्ष लोकराज अवस्थिले सामाजिक व्यवसायलाई बढी जोड दिनुपर्ने कुरा राख्नु भएको थियो ।

युथ पार्लामेन्टका अध्यक्ष दिवाकर अर्यालले व्यवसाय गर्न खोज्दा बैंकहरुले पत्याउदैनन् गाँउमा रहेको पाखो बारीलाई धितो लिन मान्दैनन् र युवाहरुलाई थप आशाबादी बनाउदै बैंर्कसहरुलाई पनि तालिम पो दिन पर्ने हो की भन्ने धारण प्रस्तुत गनुभएको थियो । त्यसै युवा व्यवसायी गोबिान्द्र गुरुङले शैक्षिक स्तर सुधार गर्नुपर्ने र व्यवसयीहरुले सिकेका कुराहरुलाई नयाँ पिढीलाई समेत हस्तान्तरण गर्दै जान सकेको खण्डमा उद्यमशीलता बिकासमा ठुलो टेवा मिल्ने धारण राख्नु भएको थियो । आफ्नो धारण राख्ने क्रममा अर्का युवा व्यवसायी जयराम सिग्देलले नयाँ काम र नयाँपन अवको युवलाई सिकाउनु पर्दछ र युवाहरुका काम गर्ने सक्ने तागत नै छैन र कामप्रति समेत खासै इमान्दारीता समेत नभएको हुदाँ उद्यमशीलताको बिकास नभएको कुराको जानकारी राख्नु भएका थियो । र नेपाली युवाहरुमा सामुहिक भाबनाको कमी छ र अन्य व्यक्तिहरुको समेत खासै कुरा नसुन्ने परिपाटी रहेको छ । नागरिक समुहको अध्यक्ष निगम हुमागाईले बिदेशमा रहेका नेपाली युवाहरुलाई कसरी नेपाल फर्काउने र नेपालमा थप व्यवसायीक योजनाहरु समेत ल्याउनु पर्ने र देशमा सिप, शिक्षा, उद्यमशिलता र बिकास हुने हो भने त्यो समृद्ध राष्ट बन्न सक्थ्यो त्यसैले यस्ता खालको कार्यक्रम गर्न अपरिहार्य भईसकेको छ ।

प्रभु बैकं कोटेश्वर ब्रान्च म्यानेजर राजन झाले युवाहरुमा धैयता कम छ र परनिर्भता समेत एक मुख्य कुरा हो र नियत राम्रो र गर्ने खालको छ भने नेपालमा व्यवसाय गर्न खासै केही चिजले समेत नरोक्ने कुराको जानकारी दिनुभयो । बोल्ने क्रममा एक अर्का युवा अभियान्ता आशिष ठाकुरले नेपालमा सबै काम गर्न सकिन्छ तर हामीमा इच्छाशक्ति चाहिन्छ र आफैले सुरु पर्ने परिपाटीको सुरुवात गर्नुपर्दछ ।

कार्यक्रमको अन्त्यमा बिशिष्ट अतिथि राजेन्द्र गिरीले हामी सबैले कुनै पनि व्यवसाय गर्न पहिला आफ्नो नियन्त्रयामा भएको कुरा र नियन्त्रण भन्दा बाहिर रहेको कुरालाई यकिन गरेर मात्रै अगाडी बढ्नुपर्दछ र व्यवसाय गर्दा बैंकहरुले पत्याउने बाताबरणको सृजना आफैले गर्ने हो र त्यस भन्दा अघि गरेको कार्यले पनि निर्धारण गर्ने हुदाँ लामो व्यवसायीक यात्रामा बैंकहरुले पत्याउने छ र सुरुमा नै बैंकहरुले पत्याउन असाध्यै गाह्रो रहेको कुरा राख्नु भएको थियो । व्यवसायीक यात्रामा बिभिन्न व्यक्तिहरुसँग पनि बेलाबेलामा सल्लाह सुझाबहरु लिनु पर्दछ र व्यवसायको बिभिन्न पाटाहरुलाई समेत अध्ययन गरेर अगाडी बढ्नु पर्ने कुरामा समेत जोड दिनुभएको थियो । त्यसैगरी मन्तव्य दिने क्रममा नेपाल पर्यटन बोर्डका कार्यसमिति सदस्य कृष्णकुमार आर्यलले आफुलाई चिन्न पर्ने र आफुलाई समेत परिबर्तन गर्नुपर्ने कुरा समेत व्यक्त गर्नुभएको थियो र हामी युवाहरुमा सामुहीक भाबनाको समेत कमी रहेको छ र कुरा ठुला ठुला गर्ने र काम कम गर्ने परिपाटी रहेको कुरा व्यक्त गर्नु भएको थियो । साथै जुन व्यवसाय गर्ने हो त्यस व्यवसायको बिषयमा पूर्ण अध्ययन गरी पूरा आत्मबिश्वासका साथ लाग्नुपर्ने कुरामा समेत जोड दिनु भएको थियो ।

कार्यक्रमको अन्त्यमा यस कार्यक्रममको सभापति शुर्दशन बिडारीले युवाहरुले कुनैपनि काम गर्दा आफ्नो सीमा तोक्न नहुने र आफु र बिभिन्न क्षेत्रहरुबाट बेलाबेलामा हतोत्साहित गराउने जुन प्रयास हुन्छ त्यसबाट बच्न र माथी उठ्न सकेको खण्डमा युवाहरुले नेपालमा उद्यमशीलता बिकासमा थप नयाँ आयम प्रदान गर्न सक्ने कुरामा जोड दिनुभएको थियो भने यस कार्यक्रमलाई संचालन नेपाल युवा परिषदका अध्यक्ष सरोज बानियाँले गर्नुभएको थियो ।

National Youth Conference 2023 Concluded

Nepal Youth Council and Master Peace Nepal Brought Together Dynamic Youths from Across Nepal for the 9th Annual International Youth Day Conference.

The Nepal Youth Council (NYC) and Master Peace Nepal (MPN) jointly organized the 9th annual International Youth Day Conference from August 10-12, 2023. The conference was a three-day residential program that featured discussions on NYC’s six thematic areas: Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Climate Action, Gender Equality, Youth Entrepreneurship, Youths in Elections, and Good Governance.

The conference was attended by 220 participants from all 77 districts of Nepal, with more than 50% of participants being women and youths from marginalized communities, LGBTQ, and persons with different abilities. NYC also invited 20+ experts, entrepreneurs, and leaders from different sectors, including Member of Parliament (MP) below 40 years of age, to maintain the youth energy.

The conference was a great success, and it provided a platform for young people from across Nepal to come together and discuss the issues that matter to them. They also had the opportunity to network with other young people and learn from the experts and leaders who were present.

The conference was made possible by the support of more than 20 sponsors, who have been collaborating with NYC each year to empower and motivate progressive youths of Nepal toward social responsibilities and to combat challenges. NYC would like to thank all of the participants, sponsors, and experts for their efforts and dedication to making the conference a success.

MasterPeace Asian Bootcamp 2023: A Gathering Of Changemakers To Create A Peaceful Future

The MasterPeace Asian Bootcamp 2023 was an inspiring and transformative event that brought together passionate changemakers from around the world. Held in Nepal, this bootcamp provided a platform for participants to exchange ideas, learn from experts, and collaborate on innovative solutions to address the challenges faced by youth and the world today. With a diverse range of workshops, discussions, and activities, the event empowered individuals to take action and create a positive impact in their communities. Let’s delve into the highlights of this remarkable gathering of minds and hearts.

Day One: The bootcamp kicked off with a captivating opening ceremony, where participants introduced themselves and shared the impactful activities they were implementing through their respective clubs. This set the tone for a collaborative and inspiring atmosphere, fostering a sense of unity and shared purpose among the attendees.

One of the highlights of the day was a meeting with Honorable Indira Ranamagar, Deputy Speaker of the Federal House of Representatives. She shared her remarkable journey and discussed her work in rescuing, rehabilitating, and socially reintegrating children of incarcerated parents. Participants had the opportunity to ask questions, share their perspectives, and provide suggestions for positive change in the government and political landscape of Nepal.

Day Two: The second day commenced with a strategic session led by Aart Boss, a member of the MasterPeace Core Team. Participants gained insights into sustainable project strategies, including issue selection, mission and vision development, and utilizing networks for project success. The theory of change and discussions on the Doughnut Economy and youth exchange added depth and relevance to the session.

A funding workshop led by Mr. Ashwini Kumar Dhakal provided valuable knowledge on effectively presenting project proposals. Participants learned about statistics, detailed planning, clear objectives, well-designed log frames, accurate MEAL (Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning) plans, and convincing budgeting. This workshop equipped participants with the necessary tools to secure funding for their projects.

In the leadership workshop led by Ms. Marcela Bos, participants explored the four dimensions of basic human needs: physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual. They gained insights into integral leadership and filled out a survey related to these dimensions. Through engaging in discussions and group activities, participants discovered their personal leadership strengths and committed to working on one specific dimension to enhance their overall leadership abilities.

The day concluded with a delightful cooking session, where Mr. Kelash Sarhadi and Mrs. Nirmala Sarhadi treated everyone to a delicious Biryani, creating a warm and memorable bonding experience.

Day Three: A group discussion on gender and climate brought important issues to the forefront. Led by MP Hami DajuBhai and MP (Bangladeshi traveler), participants examined gender practices and shared experiences from their respective countries. Open interactions and discussions allowed for a deeper understanding of harmful practices and brainstorming solutions at both individual and family levels.

Workshops on artivism and Doughnut Economics showcased the power of art in driving social change and the need for sustainable economic models. Participants engaged in thought-provoking discussions and explored innovative approaches to address pressing global challenges.

The day also featured a session on clubs’ best practices and innovation, where participants shared their successful initiatives, inspiring others with their creative solutions and impactful projects. This exchange of ideas ignited a sense of camaraderie and fostered collaboration among participants.

The art workshop provided a creative outlet for participants to express themselves. Painting a large canvas based on individual themes, they collectively created a beautiful masterpiece symbolizing peace, demonstrating the power of art as a medium for fostering harmony.

Fourth/ Final day: The final day of the boot camp was all about celebrating the learnings and experiences of the past three days. Participants reflected on the powerful conversations they had, the inspiring workshops they attended, and the collaborative spirit of the community. They also made bold plans for 2023 and beyond, pledging to take action on climate change and other global challenges.

The MasterPeace Asian Bootcamp 2023 was a successful event that brought together passionate changemakers from around the world. The event empowered participants to actively engage in change in their communities and beyond. The participants are committed to making a difference in the world and are working to create a more peaceful and just world for all.
