Nepal, like the rest of the world, is facing the serious impacts of climate change. Our beautiful, snow-capped mountains, once symbols of natural beauty and wonder, are losing their snow cover at an alarming rate. This environmental crisis calls for immediate action and collective effort, especially from the youth who hold the key to our future. To tap into the potential of young people in combating climate change, we have started the #OneYouthOnePlant campaign.

About the Campaign

The “One Youth, One Plant” campaign, led by the Nepal Youth Council (NYC) in collaboration with Ncell and the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) Nepal, will be observed on the 14th of Ashadh, National Tree Plantation Day 2081. On this day, 7,700 young individuals will come together to plant 7,700 saplings across all seven provinces and 77 districts of Nepal. This extensive tree plantation endeavor aims to contribute to the national goals established by the government and showcase the power of unity and action among the youth through widespread participation and enthusiasm.

Objectives of the Campaign

• Unite Youth for Environmental Protection: The campaign aims to bring young people together in a shared mission to protect and restore our environment.
• Support National Goals: Through tree plantation campaigns, we support the government’s efforts to fight climate change and promote sustainable development.
• Promote Conservation and Youth Engagement: By involving youths in this initiative, we send the important message that conservation and active participation of young people are essential in addressing the current environmental challenges.
