Plantation Campaign By NYC-Rupandehi Chapter

To commemorate the World Environment Day 2020, Nepal Youth Council –Rupandehi Chapter initiated Plantation Campaign on the theme “Time for Nature: One Person One Plant,”.The campaign was supported by Nepal Youth Council Province no.5, Youth Can, and Tunza eco generation. The tree plantation campaign started off on June 1, 2020, which was successfully completed on June 5, 2020, receiving an encouraging response from different parts of the globe amidst this global pandemic. More than 300 saplings were planted in different parts of the country and outside the country.

People participated in the campaigns by planting samplings of trees, flowers in wasted plastic bottles, and vegetables in their gardens. For every tree planted, the photo was posted on the Facebook page of NYC Rupandehi Chapter and other social media so that others would be inspired to do so. The campaign encouraged people to protect the environment from degradation and together bring change . The campaign was coordinated by campaign coordinator –Smriti Gyawali, Sandhya Adhikari, Samikshya Pandey, and Meena Pandey along with NYC team members and youth from different parts of the country. We would like to thank everyone who has participated in this campaign and made it a success. Its great to have received such a tremendous response from people. Such a huge response has certainly motivated us to bring more innovative initiatives in the future.

With the slogan “Youths are the torch-bearer of change” NYC will always work for the betterment of the youths with the theme “Nepal is moving ahead”.
