On the occasion of World Environment Day, Ncell and Nepal Youth Council have collaborated to plant 7700 trees across all 77 districts of the seven provinces. The “One Youth, One Plant” (#OneYouthOnePlant) campaign, a joint initiative of Ncell and Nepal Youth Council, will conduct nationwide tree plantation on on Ashar 14th, National Tree Plantation Day 2081.

In accordance with the agreement made by Ncell with the Nepal Youth Council as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), 100 youths from each district will plant one sapling in the One Youth One Plant campaign and this campaign will be done in joint collaboration with the provincial and local governments. Each youth who participates in the tree plantation will have the responsibility to care for the tree they plant. Ncell and the Youth Council believe that this national-level program, with such responsibility, will ensure the success of the campaign.

Under their social initiatives, Ncell has been collaborating in various areas such as the environment, health, education, and youth talent development.

“Today, on the occasion of World Environment Day, we are delighted to announce this exemplary initiative to plant trees across 77 districts in collaboration with the Nepal Youth Council. We are extremely pleased to initiate this effort, which will not only reach rural areas but also receive participation from the general public, thereby garnering its recognition. We are happy to collaborate with the council to work together on this initiative,” said Vishakha Laxmi Khadka, Head of Corporate Affairs and CSR at Ncell.

Keeping the comprehensive development, leadership development, entrepreneurial development, and social transformation of Nepali youth in mind, Ncell has been working with the Nepal Government, Nepal Youth Council, and other stakeholders. Ncell is also partnering with the council for a special collaboration on International Youth Day 2024.

Nepal Youth Council’s founder and president Saroj Baniya revealed that the Nepal Youth Council has initiated tree plantation campaign, prioritizing the national goal set by the government. According to Baniya, this campaign is going to be in joint collaboration with Ncell, with the objective of connecting the youth at the local level for environmental protection and social transformation. For a long time, the council has been actively working in the field of environmental protection and climate change, connecting the youth at various levels.

Nepal Youth Council has recently organized Provincial Youth Conferences in five provinces in collaboration with Ncell. These conferences aimed at youth entrepreneurship, climate change, and achieving sustainable development goals, presenting action plans in the presence of various experts. Participants in the conference have been actively involved in formulating provincial action plans and presenting them to relevant authorities such as provincial chief ministers and ministers of social development. The conferences have been successfully conducted in Bagmati, Lumbini, Karnali, Sudurpaschim, and Koshi provinces and will be conducted in the remaining two provinces and at the central level, according to the council.
