ABOUT US

Nepal Youth Council (NYC) is a youth-led, non-profit, non-governmental, and fully volunteer-based social organization driven by the passion and energy of young individuals across Nepal. Since its establishment, NYC has been dedicated to nurturing youth leadership, promoting entrepreneurship, and advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). By offering skill-based training and confidence-building initiatives, the organization aims to empower youth, helping them become self-reliant and independent.

With over 13 years of formal experience (officially registered in 2012 AD, with activities beginning informally in 2010), NYC has built a strong social footprint. It operates in all 77 districts of Nepal, supported by an extensive network of committed provincial coordinators. NYC focuses on six key thematic areas: “Youth for SDGs,” “Youth Entrepreneurship,” “Gender Equality, Disability & Social Inclusion,” “Youth for Information & Communication Technology,” “Youth for Elections,” and “Youth for Environment.”

Nepal Youth Council (NYC) Annual Flagship Program:

1. National Youth Conference (NYC): A premier gathering of young leaders from across Nepal, the National Youth Conference fosters dialogue on SDGs, governance, entrepreneurship, climate action, and youth leadership. The conference provides a platform for networking, policy discussions, and skill-building to empower the next generation of change-makers.

2. Provincial Youth Conference (PYC): Held across Nepal’s seven provinces, the Provincial Youth Conference focuses on regional youth issues, leadership training, and policy advocacy. It brings together young voices to engage with policymakers, experts, and stakeholders to drive local change and influence governance.

3. One Youth One Plant (OYOP): A nationwide environmental movement, OYOP encourages every youth to plant and nurture at least one tree, promoting climate action and sustainability. This initiative fosters environmental responsibility and community engagement in reforestation efforts.

4. Asian Youth Summit (AYS): An international platform uniting young leaders from across Asia and beyond, the Asian Youth Summit provides an opportunity for cross-cultural exchange, policy discussions, and networking. The summit focuses on regional collaboration, innovation, and youth-driven solutions for global challenges.

5. Future Leaders Development Program (FLDP): Designed to equip young individuals with leadership, entrepreneurship, and policy-making skills, FLDP is a structured mentorship and training program that shapes future leaders to drive impact in their communities and beyond.

6. Digital साथी: A digital literacy and cyber awareness program, Digital साथी educates youth on safe internet practices, cybersecurity, digital opportunities, and responsible social media use. It aims to bridge the digital divide and promote technological empowerment.
