SDG Quiz

By Nepal Youth Council(NYC)

SDG Quiz

In 2015, more than 193 world leaders committed to 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to help us all end extreme poverty, fight inequality & injustice, and fix climate change. The Sustainable Development Goals are the blueprint to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all. They address the global challenges we face, including those related to poverty, inequality, climate, environmental degradation, prosperity, and peace and justice. We each have a role to play if we’re going to achieve these goals of a more prosperous, equitable, and sustainable world.  The Goals interconnect and in order to leave no one behind, it is important that we achieve each Goal and target by 2030.

As over a third of the 169 SDG targets highlight the role of young people and the importance of their empowerment, participation, and well-being, the participation of youth in achieving SDGs is a must. In Nepal, people are still not aware of global goals and targets. To create awareness among youths of Nepal, Nepal Youth Council together with Leo club of Kathmandu Dreams conducted an inter-college speech competition in September 2018. After the successful event, Nepal Youth Council is now going to conduct a quiz competition among the different organizations, institutions, youth club and other civil societies about Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs Quiz) on March 30, 2019.

Objectives:

The specific objectives of the speech competition are:

  • To make youth aware of the SDGs.
  • To help to localize Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
